"So you're telling me that you and Kyo-San have been dating for over a whole week and you haven't said a single word about it?!" Mitsuri exclaimed, her voice filled with shock as you swallowed a heavy lump in your throat, hesitantly nodding your head. Both Mitsuri and Shinobu have overheard the boys talking about you and Kyojuro being together, and decided to come to you for an explanation. It wasn't that you didn't want to tell them or any of that sort. You have just completely forgotten to mention it. You never knew how to reveal the news to your best friends at first. Later, it just started slipping out of your mind, until you have forgotten to mention it to them.
"I wanted to tell you at some point, I swear—" you started, only for Shinobu to cut you off.
"Oh, my dear (Y/N)! We aren't mad at you or anything. I am happy you've finally had the guts to tell Kyojuro-San how you feel! For a second there I thought it was going to be Heather all over again!" Shinobu chuckled as she smiled at you. You blinked at her, slowly nodding.
"Erm... thanks... I guess?" You said, your words coming out to sound more like a question than a statement. Mitsuri sighed as she rested her head on your shoulder.
"You should've told me right after you both became official..." Mitsuri said, almost sounding heartbroken. It made you feel guilty right away.
"I'm so sorry, Mitsuri, you're right..." you mumbled, gently patting the pink-haired girl's head as an idea popped in your head, "Hey, Kyo and I went out on a date once. Want to see the pictures we took?" Immediately, Mitsuri's big green eyes widened, almost sparkling as she nodded.
"Would I?! Lemme see them now!" You handed over your phone to Mitsuri as Shinobu kneeled her head closer to see the pictures of you and Kyojuro. Mitsuri would squeal and smile every time she scrolled to the right, telling you how cute you and Kyojuro were together. Shinobu would nod her head in agreement to the pink-haired girl's comments, telling you that if Kyojuro tried to hurt you in any way, you can always let her know.
"Ahh... I can't wait until I finally find a man I truly love! Having a significant other seems so much fun!" Mitsuri sighed dreamily, her cheeks slightly tinted with a soft pink color.
"Oh, I thought you liked Iguro-San." You pointed out, and it was true. You would almost see her act somehow... different around the serpent pillar. Even though Mitsuri was bright and bubbly, she seemed happier around Iguro-san. He was no different. It seemed he had a cold personality at first, but when Mitsuri was around, he was warm and caring, and you could see that clearly. The two looked as if they were meant for each other, but they had no idea how to express their feelings. Mitsuri's face darkened in color as she looked away, avoiding everyone's gaze.
"Ah well... it's not like that..." Mitsuri said, softly chuckling as she rubbed the back of her head, "Even if I did like him. Why would he like me? I'm not as pretty as both of you." Mitsuri said honestly.
Mitsuri would always love how people looked, their hairstyles, and even what they wore. But for some reason, she just couldn't appreciate the way she looked herself. Sometimes she'd think she was a little too fat, and other times she'd find her hair strange. Why was she able to love everyone else, but just found it so difficult for her to love herself? You frowned at your pink-haired friend, softly hitting the side of your hand on her head.
"Mitsuri, just how could you say such a thing about yourself?! Both you and Shinobu are the prettiest girls I've ever seen!" Shinobu nodded her head. Mitsuri blushed slightly at your compliment, quietly thanking you.
"Mitsuri, I'm sure Iguro-San feels the same way about you. And if he doesn't, he's probably making the biggest mistake of his life." Shinobu smiled at the green-eyed girl. Mitsuri gently tucked a strand of her pink hair behind her ear, not knowing what to say.
"You think I have a chance with him?" She asked. You gave Mitsuri a toothy grin.
"Of course! You just go tell him how you feel, ok? That's what I did... partly I guess..." Mitsuri nodded slowly, a small smile creeping up to her face. Usually, Mitsuri was the one who would give out advice about love, mostly to you. Now, it was the other way around. Though Mitsuri looked like she was great when it came to love, she had her little problems with it.
"I-I'll try to... I'll tell him how I feel and— AHH! I-Iguro-San you're here!" Iguro-san was standing behind the three of you, his face softly tinted with a soft pink color as he rubbed the back of his head slightly looking down.
"Kanroji-San, you wouldn't mind having a word, would you?" He asked softly. Mitsuri blinked as she swallowed a lump forming in her throat, slowly nodding her head. You and Shinobu wore smirks on your faces as you both kneeled closer to the two. Iguro-San shot you both a look. "Alone, please?"
"Oh! Ah, sure!" Mitsuri got up and followed Iguro-San to the side of the café. You frowned in concentration, trying to understand what they were saying through the movement of their lips, but this wasn't Mission Impossible, and you most certainly weren't Ethan Hunt.
"Oh, don't tire yourself, (Y/N) dear. Mitsuri would come and tell us after she's done talking to Iguro-San." Shinobu gave you a closed-eye smile. You nodded as you turned back.
"So, Shinobu, do you have any interest in guys?" You asked, resting your head on the palm of your hand. Shinobu shrugged as she took a sip from her drink.
"Mm, not really. All the guys I know are idiots." She said, smiling. You nodded with a blank smile. Makes sense I guess...
After a few minutes, Mitsuri came back with a pink face. You smirked as you turned to your friend, raising your eyebrow. "What did he tell you?" You and Shinobu said in sync.
"Well, uhm... he just asked if I was free this weekend... he wanted to take me out." Mitsuri blushed a deeper red. You flashed a bright smile.
"You said yes, didn't you?!" You exclaimed. Mitsuri nodded.
"Of course I did! Ahh, this is going to be crazy I'm excited." Mitsuri squealed as she placed her palms on the sides of her face, feeling the warm blush under them.
"Ah great! Another man I can threaten if he dares hurt you." Shinobu chuckled softly, giving both of you a closed-eye smile. Mitsuri's eyes widened as she waved her hands in front of her.
"I-I don't think there would be the need for that, Shinobu! Iguro-San isn't like that, I'm sure of it!" Mitsuri said as you gave Shinobu a smile, sweat dropping.
"You both would do great with each other! I could feel it." You smiled as Mitsuri hugged you, thanking you. She then turned to Shinobu.
"Shinobu, you're the only one left without a love interest. Maybe we can help!" Mitsuri smiled brightly as Shinobu shook her head.
"No, thank you! I've got more important things to deal with right now." Shinobu said, waving her hand softly in no need.
You smiled as you nodded while Mitsuri kept bugging Shinobu on finding a lover, but it seemed like the dark-haired girl wasn't planning on budging any time soon.
For once, life seemed to be taking a good turn.
