Chapter 12--- Lightning and Thunder

Hazel's pov

The doctor came to check on me. My headache had become so bad that I stayed in bed for the rest of the day.

Thank God that the pain killers the doctor gave me worked miracles. I can barely feel the pain now. But Jayden ordered me to stay in bed the whole day.

Well its not like I have any where to go. So I stayed in bed. Beth brought me lunch in bed. She and Abel had been with me the entire time, to keep me entertained.

I was grateful. I think I'll learn to get over my pain at discovering that Beth married Jayden. I'm all alone but I need my Sister.

She's the only family I have left so I better get over what I lost and focus on what's ahead.

It was late, the sun was setting when they left. Beth said she was taking Abel to the park for a while. A few minutes after they left, guess who payed me a visit?

Jayden.

I heard a knock.
" come in " I said.
He entered, holding a big teddy bear and a large box of chocolate. My favourite. His hands were full. I smiled broadly at him. His eyes sparkled.

He was holding a laptop too.
" Aren't you suppose to be working your ass of in the office?" I teased
" I could use a break, don't you think?" He asked with a grin as he deposited the items on the bed. I shifted to give him space.

" ohhh so you run away from Work?"
" Shusshh, don't say it loud. Walls have ears and you wouldn't know but the witch might hear " he said and we laughed. He just called his mother a witch.

" I'll keep quiet if you promise the chocolates are mine?" I stated rather than asked.
He laughed " of course. Everything is yours "
My heart fluttered at that.

I watched him with a smile on my face as he arranged the items neatly on the bedside table.

Why did we have to end? We didn't even end, did we?

" Thanks so much Jayden " I say sincerely. He sits on the bed and present the teddy bear to me.
" Aww, so cute. I love it "

" You're cuter... cutest " he said, playing with the edges of my hair, twirling it around his fingers, looking so concentrated.

I stare at him. Hard.

He looked so handsome. His sharp features are visible, sharp chiseled jaws, beautiful grey eyes. I'm sad.

I don't feel that kind of fire he sparkled in me always anymore. But it's not absolutely gone. If I make myself willing, I'll fall for him again.

But I can't.

" You got me a novel?! That's nice " I say, setting the chocolate box down and picking up the novel.
Lightening and Thunder. "It's beautiful " I murmur
" Yeah. Just like you."

Stop, please stop.

" Just like what we were before. You were lightening and I the Thunder. You always shine on my path before I can function " he whispered, gazing at me so softly.

I'm melting at his show of affection.
Stop it Hazel! He's not yours anymore. Everything you had is gone.
He cups my face and stares at me with so much conflicted emotions.

No. I can't succumb to this.
I pull away and laugh nervously.
I pick up the chocolate and open it, I bit into one, shut my eyes and moaned.
I heard him inhale sharply. I opened my eyes to stare at him and his eyes are hooded.
Oh shit. I should stop doing that... moaning when ever I taste anything sweet.
