Chapter 15--- Her

Hagel's POV

The second I met her eyes, I knew I'd hurt her.
The way she looked from Fiona, to our intertwined arms to me... It showed how deep she's hurt.

But she tried to hide it.
I couldn't keep looking at her because all I could think of is to walk up the stairs, grab her and kiss her.

Kiss her hard.

But I can't.

So I turned with Fiona towards the pools.

I Know Fiona was trying to get to Hazel. I could tell from how her grip tightened around my arm, how possessive her actions had been.

I take my arms out of hers and sit on the bench near the pool once we're out.
She sits next to me and I feel so uncomfortable.

Fiona was very beautiful and all. But I don't feel anything for her.
I care for her because no matter how hard I try to hate it, she's been there for me for a long time and I'm grateful.

She had been friends with Jaden during their college days.
She and Jaden had been very close.
I'm surprised she likes me and not Jaden.
They both have similar characters.... Prat.

" I've been waiting for hours Hagel, where did you go?" She babbled , pouting her red lipsticked lips.

I sigh.

" I went out for a while" I say calmly.
" To where" she pry.

She knows I hate that.
But she's still doing it because she knows I won't tell her off.

I ignore her question and turn my attention to the still pool.

She draws closer.
I want to pull away but I don't.
If I want Jayden and the rest to stop suspecting if something is up between Hazel and I, then I need to tolerate Fiona.
I need to act as if I'm into her.

It's gonna be hard but it's worth it.
Hazel is worth it all.

" Your championship is coming up this Saturday?" She asks in a happy hopeful tone.

I nod.

" And Jayden is coming to watch?"

I grit my teeth.

Jayden.
Of course he told her.
I say nothing.

" I wanna come too, can I?" She asks in a childish sweet tone, her rare purple eyes gleaming.
I shut my eyes a moment.

" You can't come" I say firmly.

" Why not? Come on Hagel, even Bethany is coming!" She points displeased.

" You can't come"
" Why not Hagel? You're being unfair, I've always wanted to go watch you fight and you never allow me"

" That's because that place is not for you. For any of you"
" Oh come on. I won't cause trouble, I promise".

I sigh again, rubbing my face.
" Fine".

" Yaayyy!!" She squeals and  side hugs me, showering my face with kisses.

Gosh...

I break away from her and stand up, burying my hands in my pockets.

" You're so sweet baby" she adorned and smiled her infamous picture smile at me

I smile back tightly.
Baby.

I hate it.
It sounds so soft. So girlish and annoying.
I need to stay focused, especially now that the championship match is near.
And I need to keep an eye on Fiona, I know how stubborn she can be.
