38) Playing with my feelings

Thursday (8:10)

I was at the full drives house again.

I slept at Andrews house yesterday which I hated.

We slept in the same bed but I got up and slept on the couch after he had fallen asleep.

He didn't like it when he woke up but I just told him I got really hot and had to go to some place cooler.

He didn't buy it but left it as is which I was thankful for.

I haven't seen clay yet today though which hurt me.

I want to hold onto him. I want to hug him and tell him everything. I want to be by his side. I want to be his.

But...today is the day where I have to quit.

I have to leave the full drives and cut my connection with them completely.

Clays POV

Its around 8 am.

Y/n should be home right now.

I was outside taking a walk around the neighborhood trying to clear my mind up a bit.

It really hurt me to see y/n being so distant.

I don't know if I went too far on our date...it seems I did.

I just wish she would talk to me so that we can clear this up.

I just really don't want to lose her.

I was walking down the sidewalk when I heard someone call my name.

"CLAY!"

I looked over at the person who had yelled my name and saw Emma running towards me.

I rolled my eyes and let out a sigh.

I really didn't want to talk to her right now.

I started to ignore her and walk away.

"Please. Just go away for the love of God"

She didn't stop and caught up to me.

"C-clay" she said trying to catch her breath.

"I told you. I don't love you anymore." I said and kept on walking.

Emma walked alongside me while trying to catch her breath.

"Seems like y/n doesn't love you either." She said

I stopped in my tracks.

"The hell? Don't talk about things you know nothing about." I said giving her a death stare.

"Oh trust me. I know more than you think." She said not breaking eye contact

"What's that supposed to mean?" I said trying to figure out what she meant.

"She already has a lover you idiot." She said

My eyes widened in shock and I retorted "what the hell are you talking about?! No she doesn't. I've known her long enough to know she doesn't have a boyfriend."

"That's because she's a snake." She said "She's been hiding it from you."

"Bullcrap. Youre just trying to get me to hate her so that you feel better about me rejecting you." I said and started to walk away.

"I HAVE PROOF!" She yelled and took out her phone.

I looked and it had a picture of y/n and some dude kissing.

I felt my stomach turn. I felt like I was going to throw up.

"Y-yea, and how do I know this isn't photoshopped or a picture from years ago? That could be her ex." I said trying to find any possibility that this was fake.

"This was taken 2 days ago at night." I can show you the timestamp." She said and she showed me.

2 days ago? That was when we had our date... This was after we had kissed.

"That's not all." She said and swiped the screen to show the guy kneeling on the ground holding a ring.

"Seems they've been dating for a while and so he proposed" she said quietly

I felt my heart dropped

No...no...this had to be fake...this couldn't be real..

She...loves me...right?

"That was all. I just wanted to let you know." She said and walked away.

Leaving me there.

After a while I slowly started to walk back home.

Y/n's POV

I finished cleaning Clays office and started heading back downstairs.

Clays not home. Which I guess is a good thing .. it makes things easier I guess.

I went into the living room to dust off the counters when I heard the front door open.

I looked to see clay coming in.

"Welcome back" I said trying to sound cheerful.

I was just glad to see him. Even if it was going to be the last time.

He looked at me and I noticed he had red eyes.

He's.. been crying?

I immediately felt guilt eating at my heart.

"C-clay..." I said while walking over to him.

I went to wipe the tears from his eyes but he jerked his head away.

"Why...?" He started

"Why did you play with my feelings?" He choked out
