Xmas Special

Y/N's POV

There. Finally!

I placed the last string if lights onto the christmas tree.

I decided to be the one to decorate the Fulldrive's house... Even though they arent going to be here for the holidays.

They're all going to a vacation to Mexico. Since Im not going to be doing anything for the Holidays they agreed to let me Housesit for them while they're gone. They are currently all packing to leave So here i was.

id be lying if i said i wasnt a bit jealous of them leaving to Mexico, a place ive been dying to go to for ages to see my parents and friends again but im just as content with staying here.

i dont even think id be okay with seeing my parents. Id be glad of course but thered be a lot of crying. im fine with staying here...

Decorating the christmas tree.

Its been such a long time since ive decorated one. Let alone one thats big like this one. I used to have a small christmas tree plant but i never cared much for it.

I take a step back to look at my work.

The lights were shining brightly reflecting off of the silver ornaments hanging on the branches.

But something wasnt right.

somethings missing...whats missing??

I squinted at the tree and took another step back trying to understand what was missing.

"I love it" i heard as i felt arms wrap around my waist from behind

i jumped as i turned around to see who had spoken while being held.

I look up to see Clays gaze stay at the tree and look down to meet mine. It sent a chill down my spine, but it wasn't in an uncomfortable way. It was in a warm and comforting way. with butterflies in my stomach.

"but... wheres the star?" he asked

i snapped my head back to look at the top of the tree.

"THAT WAS IT! THE STAR!" i yelled finally glad to have gotten to fix what was bothering me.

I left Clay's hold which left me a bit cold and walked over to a box on the table.

I fumbled through it before finding a beautiful silver outlined star with gold glass filling the inside.

"My dad bought it for my mom on their first christmas together." Clay said as i stared at the beautiful star.
