Chapter Four

[ The beginning of the biggest Adventure]

The four of them were sat on the boat, on their way to pick up Kie, JJ was sat next to Jo as he kept blowing air into her face as an attempt to annoy her.

"Good Morning Kie" Jo called as she waved to her friend, ignoring JJ's attempts to annoy her.

"Oh, top o' the mornin' to ya"

"Morning guys"

"Whatcha got? You got some juice boxes?" Pope questioned.

"You know, just some yogurts and carrot sticks." She said as Jo held out her hand to help her onto the boat.

"How about my kind of juice box?" JJ asked from beside Jo as he took the cooler out of her hand.

"Yeah"

Jo took out a bottle of beer and threw it towards JJ who quickly caught it and then flicked her hat down.

"Hey!" She exclaimed as she pushed her hat further up so she could see.

"Salud"

"Skoal" JJ said as he clinked his bottle against Kie's.

"Let me show y'all a party trick" JJ spoke up as he stood on the front of the boat.

"Hey, Pope. Can you go a little faster please?"

"It won't work" Jo called out as she took another sip of her coke.

"We've tried this like 6,000 times"

"I got this. It's gonna work!"

The Boat went faster and JJ tipped his head so that the beer would fly into his mouth.

"You're getting beer in my hair!"

"Oh my god"

"All right. All right! You're done" John B spoke up as he went to stand up though thats when the boat suddenly stopped sending the teens crashing forward. Jo smacked her head against the floor with full force whilst JJ went flying into the water.

"Jesus pope!" Kie exclaimed as Jo groaned, clutching the side of her head.

"You okay, JJ?" John B asked the blond boy.

"I think my heels touched the back of my head" He groaned as he floated in the water.

"Kie, you okay?"

"I'm all right" she moaned as she sat up.

"Jo, you doin' good?" All he got was a 'mhm' which made him look towards the girl, blood was running down her face as she clutched the side of her head. He went over to her and untied his bandana to press against her wound. She smacked his hand away and shook her head.

"Fuck no you're not putting that against my head, god knows where its been" She said as she reached for her purse, she pulled out a white cloth and held it against her head.

"Pope what'd you do?" JJ asked as he swam back towards the boat.

"Sandbar. The channel changed" Pope said as he got back on his feet.

"No shit"

"Ugh this is probably gonna mess this whole place up" John B said as he held the cloth against Jo's head whilst she was leaning against him.

"Hey Jo you alright? What happened" JJ questioned as soon as he saw the blonde girl.

"Smacked my head against the floor, I think I have a concussion" she groaned, JJ's whole face was filled with worry.

"Guys... I think there's a boat down there" Pope spoke up as he looked down at the water.

"Shut up" John B laughed.

"No way"

"No, no, guys. I'm serious. There's a boat down there."

Everyone stood up and looked down at the water, Jo squinted and gasped when she saw it.

"It's a boat!"

"Holy fuck, he's right. Go!"

All of them jumped in except Jo, she didn't want her wound to get infected. She looked through her purse and pulled out the small first aid kit. She cleaned her wound and put a bandage on it.

The four emerged from the water with laughter "You guys saw that right?" JJ gasped as he shook his head.

"What is it?" Jo asked leaning over the boat.

"That's a Grady-White"

"No way! What the fuck."

"A new one of those is like 500 Gs, easy." JJ laughed as he had a huge smile on his face.

"Yeah I saw one of those when I was surfing the surge." John b said as he climbed back onto the boat. "Maybe it hit the jetty's or something"

"You surfed the surge?" Kie questioned, her voice laced with concern.

"Oh yeah he did" Jo muttered, grabbing her straw hat from the floor and putting it back on her head.

"Yeah, that's my boy. Pogue style." JJ cheered, giving him a high five.

"Wait do we know who's boat that is?"

"No but we're about to find out" John B said as he opened a compartment and pulled out the anchor.

"Dude, it's too deep."

"For the weak and feeble JJ"

"Be careful John B" Jo called as JJ hugged her from behind making her squeal in surprise.

"Yeah, I'm not resuscitating you. I'm just making that clear up front."

"That's fine" John B answered as he picked up the anchor, Kie looked worried as she stepped forward.

"John B" she frowned as she crossed her arms, clearly not approving of what he was about to do.

"What" he chuckled as he gave her a smile.

"Diver down, fool" Pope said, standing in front of Kie.

"Diver down" John B saluted and JJ went forward.

"Yeah he is" JJ laughed as he quickly pushed John B into the water.

The four of them all gathered around the front of the boat waiting for John B to pop up again. JJ put his arms around Jo's waist to keep her from falling into the murky green water.

"Should we go get him?" Jo said with a worried expression on her face as she nervously played with her nails.

Not even a second later John B appeared again with a loud gasp.

"Oh my god that took forever" Kie said, letting out a breath that she didn't even know she was holding.

"Any dead bodies?" Pope asked

"Looting potential?" JJ questioned him as Jo helped John B get back onto the boat.

"No, but I found this motel key." John B revealed as he showed them a key with a bright yellow tag on it.

"A key?"

"Yes a key Pope."

"Great we salvaged a motel key"

After their little adventure they were heading back when Kiara spoke up.

"Guys we should report the wreck to the coast guard"

"Maybe we'll get a finder's fee" Jo added as she held her hat in place so it wouldn't fly off.

"Yeah, and not work all summer. Thanks Agatha, ya batch!" JJ laughed.
