"Brother?" Joanna repeated as she looked back at her father who had a cold expression on his face as he looked to the red haired woman who was his sister.

"Let me guess, he told you he was a spy as well? Hah he always wanted to be one, though his greediness would've gotten in the way." Adria chuckled as she crouched down beside Leonard.

"Let me tell you the real story, dear niece" She smirked wickedly as Leonard looked up at her with rage in his eyes. "Years ago me and your traitor of a father came across this huge pile of diamonds in our basement, we both agreed to split them equally but the next morning I went to check, all of them were gone. He got greedy and left with all of the diamonds, completely vanished as I was stuck in our abusive household." She spat as she slashed she knife towards Leonard's arm, creating a big cut as she hissed out in pain.

Joanna's head was spinning, was all of this a lie or was her father the bad guy? Tears started spilling down her face as her breathing became unsteady.

"You lied? You lied about everything?!" Jo screamed as she looked towards her mother who wore the same guilty expression. "And you? Mum you knew too?" She whispered as her mothers eyes started filling with tears, Joanna couldn't believe it.

Joanna opened the necklace and put her thumb on the scanner, she picked out the key and handed it towards the red headed woman who grinned widely.

"Our job is done here gentlemen." She smirked as the men lowered their guns whilst she was examining the key.

"Oh and Joanna, keep this" she handed her the blue diamond necklace with a grin. "Goodbye dear niece" the red haired woman left, followed by all the men.

Joanna went towards her parents as she ripped the duck tape off their mouths and untied them.

"How could you Joanna!" Her father shouted, his face red with anger.

"No how could you!" She screamed back as she pointed her finger towards him.

"You lied to me! Manipulated me into thinking you were a spy and that the key would unlock something dangerous to the world, and all of that because you were too greedy!" She raised her voice even more but was caught off guard as her father smacked her across the face.

Joanna was speechless as her father eyes widened "Joanna- im so sorry-" he stuttered but Jo slowly backed away.

"Don't you ever come near me again." Joanna took off running, grabbing her purse as she ran up to her room. She threw her door open and slammed it shut, quickly locking it before her parents could storm in.

"Joanna please, sweetie!" Her mothers voice rang out as she was banging on the door.

Jo grabbed a bigger bag and quickly threw in everything she needed before zipping it closed. She ran to her vanity as she opened her jewellery box and pulled out the key.

The day before Joanna had switched out the keys in her necklace just as a precaution incase anything would ever happen, and she was glad she did so.

She quickly got her old necklace and locked the key inside, she put it around her neck as she ignored the cried and bangs from outside of her room.

She threw her bag onto the bed as she grabbed her gun and put it in her crossbody bag. Jo ran towards the window and opened it quietly. She didn't hesitate as she jumped out and ran towards her car.

Joanna threw her bags into the passenger seat just as her parents ran out the front door.

"Joanna Harper don't you dare leave!" Her fathers voiced demanded as he ran closer towards her though he stopped in his tracks as Jo held up the gun toward him.

"Don't you dare" she said coldly as she looked him dead in the eye, Joanna never thought she would pull a gun on her own father. But here she was.

She slowly backed away and got into the drivers seat before driving away from the place she once used to call her home.

Joanna knew that her parents would look for her at John B's chateau so she decided to drive to another dear friend of hers.

Joanna stumbled into the small bakery, her eyes bloodshot as she wiped away her tears.

"Oh Joanna dear what on earth happened?" Tanja's concerned voice made Jo look up to the older woman.

"Tanja could I please stay for a while- something happened at home" Jo sniffled as the woman pulled her into her arms.

"Oh of course Jo, let's go upstairs alright?"

Tanja closed up her shop and went upstairs to her apartment as Jo followed her quietly.

"I'll take the couch dear, you can have my bed" Tanja said but Jo shook her head quickly, "No, no, I'll be fine on the couch Tanja, thank you" she told the woman with a grateful smile as she set her bag down.

"Oh dear do you want to talk about it?" Tanja's voice rang out from the kitchen as she entered the living room with a plate full of Joanna's favourite cupcakes.

"I don't think I can." Jo mumbled as she took a cupcake from the plate and started to munch on it.

"Did they do that to you? Your parents?" She lifted her chin and inspected the cut on her cheek but Jo softly nodded.

"No, It was just a small accident." She dismissed as Tanja nodded, though she still didn't look too convinced.

Later that day Joanna was laying on the couch, she had changed into a pair or shorts and JJ's sweater that she still hadn't given back to him. Its was around midnight and she wondered if Kiara was awake. She pulled her phone out of her bag and got Kie's contact though she struggled to press on the 'call' button. In the end she just threw her phone at the end of the couch and sighed as she laid back.

Joanna still couldn't believe that her father had betrayed his own family like that, what bastard would leave his sister in an abusive home and then take away her only chance of freedom? It was like a stab in the chest when she realised that her mother was in on all of it too, Joanna knew that she could never ever forgive her parents.
