selfish

"Looks like ATEEZ lost their confidence. Kinda disappointed with that attitude."

Yes.

"But I want that to come back to life."

What?

"I'll be giving you chances. This is only a test. Don't worry, nothing serious. Just... dangerous."

EDEN laughed at the looks of their faces. This is what he loved, shocked, scared, frightened, glowing eyes in the light of horror. This is something he missed.

"I just need one participant to represent you as a whole."

Everyone had their eyes looking towards the small captain. Hongjoong. He will be the representative.

"You."

He jerked his index forward.

"Choose the fate of the child."

Hongjoong blinked fastly with a loud gulp as a clear image of his nervousness.

"Mr. Park Seonghwa."

What.

Seonghwa?

Why him?

They stared at him confused. Especially their leader and the one that is supposed to be the representative of the group, Hongjoong.

With the keys triggering the lock as his hand twists it in a specific position, EDEN opens the cage personally even without the help of his crewmates.

"Come on, don't be shy."

With the soft click of the lock opening but the cage wrenching as it swung open with its old structure, the sound didn't match at all.

It was, eerie.

'Clang!'

"Why didn't you choose me instead?!"

Hongjoong snapped at the dominating captain before them.

He was in rage right now. Feeling useless at the time they work as a whole group. Seonghwa doesn't need to be in pain at this time.

Well, no one deserves pain.

But as the leader, he believes that he needs to be the first,

first to know,

first to witness,

first to receive grief.

Not the crew he is just starting to know.

Let him have all the pain first then provide comfort to the others.

"Oh, RaMon's nephew, don't be too selfish, give others some screen time, alright?"

But is being a leader make you the center of attraction and appear selfish?

The older, Seonghwa, patted the shoulder of his captain instead of just refraining from the order of the boss. This might be a better choice than everyone going down all at once.

Seonghwa was reluctant with the invitation of EDEN. Just like what he said, the challenge is dangerous. Why wouldn't he feel wary then?

But even though he had the leery feeling that upsets his tummy in multiple rotations of it, he had no choice but to do this in order to save the crew and live through this obstacle.

He brings his body upwards to walk outside with heavy courage and pressure on top of his shoulders.

But just like his hesitant state just showed up, he was held back in the wrist to stop. He faces the grip.
