"It's been a week, Josh." Valentino whispered to Josh as Timmy (Josh's friend and owner of the bar) checked on his security tapes. "What if something happened?"
Josh wanted to scream at his brother to shut up but instead chose to ignore him. It wasn't like those thoughts haven't occured to him but he hated to hear it. He wanted to believe that Jac was still alive, he had to be.
"That's Jac." Josh shouted as he saw Jac pass through the screen. He looked so beautiful just obliviously walking through the bar not knowing what will befall him. Jac wanted to curse, he wanted to reach out and save him but he couldn't. He had messed this up.
"Who's that guy at the corner?" Timmy pointed at someone who fit all descriptions they've been getting on their suspect. "He's eyeing him way too creepily."
"That's him." Josh exclaimed. "That's the guy who was touching Jac in the club, I think. He looks a bit muscular than he had last time."
"I'll go run that for you." Timmy said as he started typing at his laptop.
Thankfully this time Valentino kept his mouth shut as they waited for Timmy to give them a name but somehow Josh felt the need to taunt him.
"So, what's so special about Jac that you're running up and down trying to save his life? Is something you do for all your employees?"
Valentino tried to ignore him and reached for the drink in front of him for a sip.
"Better not tell daddy dearest you're gay. He's-"
"He knows I'm bisexual." Valentino said calmly, making Josh to snap his eyes at him. Josh tried to keep calm and not dwell on the fact that his father had renounced him as his heir because he was gay, but somehow was just fine with Valentino being the same.
"I can hear the wheels in your head turning and I must tell you that you're wrong." Val turned towards Josh with a stoic face. "Patrick didn't denounce you for being gay, it was for exactly the situation we're in now."
Now Josh was curious as he turned towards his brother, a frown perched on his face. "What do you mean?"
"You don't remember much about your childhood,, Josh and that's probably a good thing. Patrick used to visit my mother years back and he ranted a lot about you. My mother seeing it as golden opportunity for me to smooch off Patrick used to tell me things Patrick told her. And the highlights are that you're not fit to run a business. Much less an empire."
"What the fuck are you talking about?"
"It's not my place to say." Val smirked. "But in my opinion, Patrick should let you know."
"You know he won't." Josh said. "He would rather I think he hates me than to tell me the truth."
"No. He would rather you hate him that to hate yourself."
"I don't think I know what you're talking about."
"Do you know Sam something, Giovanni Lang and Rick something?" Val narrowed his eyes at Josh.
"What do they have to with this? They are just my ex's."
"Right. And what happened to them after you broke their heart?"
Josh stared at Val trying to somehow find the answer in his eyes but came out with nothing. He had dated Sam when he was only fourteen, the year he first learnt he was a little bit of a Sociopath.
Sam was working as the garden hand of his father's mansion and had fallen hopelessly in love with Josh. Try as he may, Josh did not return those feelings. Josh broke things off and Sam had disappeared.
