FAIR WARNING

CHAPTER TWENTY ONE

The whole area was cut off by the Police with police tape being omnipresent. The ambulance loaded Dalmar’s lifeless body onto a stretcher, covered with a white cloth. He was placed into the ambulance vehicle. The group watched from afar, as the police were still on the hunt for them. Lanelle was clearly saddened as her eyes wielded up with tears before one fell from her eye. Paul wiped the tear that dripped to her cheek and held her close beside him as the ambulance drove away.

“He was such a good guy. I knew him from secondary school” Lanelle shakily stated

“It’s that waste man Kofi’s fault” DeMarion barked “The hell was he playing at? Crack head, I’m glad he’s dead. Dalmar didn’t deserve to die”

“He bloody well shouldn’t have” Courtney barked “My days…His mum. No his Mum is gonna be devastated. Lovely lady as well, that’s just too sad”

“Well to make sure his death wasn’t in vain” Wale began “We’ve got to take down MARSHAL and end this shambles situation once and for good”

“Nice words, big man” Shay clapped sarcastically

“Is that appropriate, you fool” Lanelle spat

“Shut up Lanelle…Wale, how can we find MARSHAL; if you were as smart as I thought you were or how you appear to be, you might have clocked that this could be some next trap. You know how crazy Kofi was…’biggest fan’ of some crazed lunatic person? Who in life is like that?”

“I hate to say it…but…” Lanelle began, as she regained her composure “Shay’s right”

“It’s about time you recognize” Shay sarcastically grinned “Shay is always right”

“OH MY DAYS…Paul I’m gonna switch on this chick and give her one MASSIVE bang to her FACE, I SWEAR IT” Lanelle barked [SWITCH: get very angry]

“You ain’t gonna do…” Shay was cut off by Wale

“Anyway, Shay you’re kind of right…but do we have any other options?”

“That’s true. We’ve exhausted everything, every option” Lil replied

“Trust, there’s no other option. Let’s go down to this MARSHAL and clear her or him out for good” DeMarion declared “The quicker we do that, the quicker I get to see my baby”

“Aww…” Lanelle teased “That’s so sweet…No I’m being serious, I haven’t even seen her properly”

“You will when this is all over” DeMarion grinned proudly, as he got out a picture of his daughter. He passed the photo to Lanelle

“Touching…but can we move on?” Shay declared

“Yeah…I can’t help but feel we need weapons, still. This MARSHAL must be some powerful brother…or sister…so we’ve got to approach MARSHAL with extreme caution, if we want to survive” Paul stated. Paul looked around, and approached a broken pole “I got my weapon”

“Weapons…come on” Wale shrugged

Lil grabbed a broken beer bottle from the floor “I agree with Paul, we need protection”

“Guys violence isn’t the answer. Look what happened to Dalmar” Wale replied “If we fight fire with fire, we’ll only end up getting burned…or dead”

“WHATEVER…Let’s be on the move” Paul replied as he took the lead. The group followed.

As they took a few steps, Lil noticed the teenage girl that had approached Paul, talking to the police with a ‘WANTED’ poster in hand
