FAIR WARNING
CHAPTER SIXTEEN
“THAT BREH IS GONNA DIE” Paul barked in rage [BREH: brother]
The group were outside of the pet shop discussing what had transpired
“It makes sense. He’s MARSHAL” Lanelle declared “I knew it! Bloody weirdo…”
“Hold on…just because he bought a snake doesn’t make him capable of all this?” Shay declared “He ain’t got the brains”
“We just can’t take any chances” Courtney replied “I will not run from this. Very soon, every country in the Western world will feel this wrath, and the world as we know it will never be the same”
“Why are you talking like that?” Wale asked
“Well I speak the truth” Courtney declared “Now…I’m thinking, should we pay Kofi a visit, and get to the bottom of this?”
“Of course” DeMarion declared “Come on, let’s go”
“…Where does that guy even live?” Paul declared
“Bongo player, he lives in South-West” DeMarion replied
“VANILLA MILKSHAKE, I swear down…don’t be correcting me like I’m some child” Paul barked
“Vanilla milkshake?” Lanelle laughed “Paul you’re crazy”
The group walked off into the distance.
The group walked though their surroundings. London was in a very bad way. Businesses were down and lower than ever before, but Courtney noticed something very odd. It began to rain; an old lady was being drenched in the rain water. Courtney felt sad as she watched the helpless old lady struggle in the rain. A big-built man took off his coat, and approached the old lady, covering her from the rain. Courtney smiled. As the group were walking, she then noticed people giving money for a charity by placing money into a bucket. Most of the people that walked by placed money into the bucket. Courtney thought that was odd, and she started to reflect on herself. Wale noticed she was in a weird state
“Courtney…Court, what’s up?” Wale asked
“I’m just thinking…” Courtney began “I’ve been kind of selfish”
“What are you talking about?” Wale replied “We’ve all helped each other out in one way or another”
“I mean minor things…like giving to charity and things” Courtney replied “Don’t get me wrong, I try and help whoever needs help, but I think we all have a selfish nature to an extent”
“Maybe…” Wale decalred “Things seem so gloomy now; it’s like everywhere is just dark with no life”
“I wouldn’t say that” Courtney replied “I think people are actually caring for one another more”
“You think so…I haven’t noticed anything” Wale declared
“…Or maybe I’m losing the plot” Courtney replied “This MARSHAL thing is mentally draining, man”
“We stick together, it won’t last for long” Wale stated. Courtney replied with a smile as the group walked on.
The day then turned into the evening. It was 19:09, the group approached Kofi’s apartment.
“Alright…we don’t want to draw any unwanted attention, so let’s knock” Dalmar advised. Paul opted to do it. He then began to bang hard on the door
“OI YOU LUNATIC, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?” Shay barked. No one answered the door. Dalmar reached into his pocket and got some sharp objects
“What are you doing?” Shay asked
