My Double Agent

Chapter 9 ~ Things Go Wrong

 It was Monday morning, March 1st. Hermione, Ginny, and Lavender run into the Hospital wing to see Ron lying in bed and Harry standing next to him, he looks up and smiles sheepishly, "Hey.."

"WON WON!", Lavender screamed and ran over to his bedside, grabbing his hand. Ginny sits on the other side of him, next to Harry. Hermione looks over and notices Slughorn, Severus, and Dumbledore were all there also. She notices Slughorn holding a weird bottle, looks at Severus, She then turns to Harry and walks over, "What happened?"

"He was poisoned. By accident!" 

Hermione and all the others looks over to Slughorn who hands the bottle over to Severus who sniffs it, "I can already smell the poison... If Mr. Potter had not used bezoar, Mr. Weasley surely would have been dead."

Lavender cries and hugs Harry, "Thank you for saving my won won.." 

Harry pats her on the back and she runs back to Ron's side. He then turns around for Ginny to jump on him, trying to hide the fact that she too was crying, "Thank you for saving my brother. I don't know what mum would have done..."

Harry hugs her back. Hermione held back her tears as well. Dumbledore then speaks up, "Why would you own such a thing Horace?"

"It was a gift for you headmaster...."

Hermione looks up at him shocked, it was the mead Draco poisoned. She then turned away, "I'm going to the library." She walked out before anyone could say anything to her. Severus caught up with her in the hallway, "What's wrong?" He whispers. She turns around and whispers in his ear, "That's the mead Draco poisoned for Dumbledore." 

Severus looks down at her shocked, "How do you know that, have you two been having secret meetings?"

"Kind of... he's one of the only friend I can really talk to now, except for you."

"That's risky! What if some one sees you together!"

"Then he starts bullying me and I run off. We already have this worked out Severus, why does it matter anyway? I secretly see you almost every other night."

"You never told me beforehand..."

"Why does it matter Severus?"

Severus turns away and starts to walk off, "I'll make sure it's not linked back to him."

"Severu-" She stopped as she sees some students walking into the hall way.

"Ms. Granger, I understand you are worried for Mr. Weasley, but I am busy."

She could tell he was upset with her. She felt like crying, she walked off to the library, for once Hermione was going to skip classes and not for some crazy Potter mission. She walked into the library and went into the very back sitting in a windowpane Now that she was alone, she cried. She had no idea what happened, or why Severus was mad at her.

Later that day she was reading a book, still silently crying, when she heard a voice, "Hermione?" She looked up to see Draco standing there. She cried harder again until Draco walked up and hugged her, "What's going on?"

"Ron's in the hospital, and Severus is mad at me."

Draco sat next to her wiping her tears away, "Calm down, tell me about Ron first."

"Ron..." Hermione looked down, "Ron and Harry were visiting Professor Slughorn last night..."

"Yeah?"

"He decided to pour everyone a glass of mead he was saving..."

Draco looked at Hermione with wide eyes, "Oh my god... is he ok?!"
