The next morning Hermione was sitting with Harry and Ron in the great hall. Ron's plate was, as usual, stacked with food. Hermione giggled at his plate as she continued to grab some avocados for herself and put them on her toast. She was so nervous sitting there, she kept having to check her sleeve to make sure it was pulled down all the way. Harry and Ron were too busy talking about quidditch, they didn't notice Hermione turn around to look across the room.

She locked eyes with Draco who nodded at her, pleased to see she isn't dead. She nodded back as if to tell him that the plan worked. All of the sudden Ginny sits next to Hermione and whispers into her ear, "Why are you nodding at Malfoy?" Hermione looked at her friend and thought of a quick excuse before leaning up to her and whispering back, "You can't tell anyone." Ginny nodded.

"I found him crying last night, I told him I wouldn't tell anyone if he treated me better."

"Oooo, blackmail Granger. I love it."

They share a laugh before Ginny turns her attention to Harry and Ron. Lavender has now shown up and she was sitting next to Ron fixing his hair as he has not even tried to fix it since he woke up. Hermione grabs a quill and piece of paper and starts to write a note as they are all distracted.

Draco, meet me in the library while Gryffindor has Quidditch practice. HG.

She folds the note under the table before anyone could notice and uses her wand to make the note fly under the tables and land right into Draco's lap. He reads the note then nods to Hermione. She smiled then continue to eat her food. Soon Ron grudges, "Ugh, I can't believe Snape is finally our Dark Arts teacher, it sucks. I used to love that class... when the teachers weren't trying to kill us." Harry laughs. Hermione just giggles and looks up to the professor's table where she could see Severus speaking with Dumbledore. Harry then clears his throat, "Wanna come to practice with us Hermione? I hear Cormac has a big crush on you."

"Ew. No thanks, I'd rather go to the library anyways."

"OK, suit yourself."

Later that day Hermione walks into the library and smiles when she sees Draco sitting at a table nearby. Once again, being that it was the weekend, they were the only two there. She sat next to him and nodded, "Draco."

 "So, you're in?"

"Yes. I'm in."

"So, what's your task?"

"Not what you will expect."

"Try me."

"He want's my children."

Draco pauses for a second thinking on her words, "I'm sorry?"

"Yeah. My children."

"Does that mean he..."

"No! Thankfully, he picked the father. I have to marry him once I graduate."

"Who- oh god, it's not me is it?"

Hermione laughed, "No."

"Yes! No offence but, phew!"

"Feelings mutual!"

They share a laugh before Draco sighs, "For real though, who do you have to marry and have kids with?"

"Professor Snape."

Draco looks at her disgusted, "Ew! You have to have kids with my uncle?!"

"He's your uncle?"

"Well. kind of. Not blood related, but he is my god father. So, I just call him my uncle."

"Oh."

"But... why?"

"Voldemort considers Snape his right-hand man. And he thinks I am the smartest witch alive at the moment."

"The perfect death eaters."

"Precisely."

Draco nods, "Who else knows?"

"Voldemort said, only you are allowed to know."

Draco nods then stands up, "Alright."

Hermione stands up and they begin walking down the hall together. "Do we want to do weekly meet ups like this? Just to check in on one another. Make sure everythings ok?"

Draco nods, "Sure. I still am not sure how I'm going to finish my task. I'll speak with Voldemort over Christmas I guess."

"Good idea. Speaking of which, your house needs more color."

They share a laugh and continue walking together until they reached the bridge that was outside. They stand there together and watch the trees sway in the wind. Hermione smiled, she wishes Draco and herself could have been friends sooner, he is actually a pretty good guy once you get to know him, "Draco."

"Yeah?"

"Why would you want to be a double agent? You hate Harry... why would you secretly help him?"

"Honestly. I don't hate Potter or Weasley. The only people I hate in this world are my dad and Voldemort."

"Why don't you hate them anymore?"

"What was it you said in the library last night? Why hate someone and feud with them, when it's clear they have enough gone on their lives?"

"I did say that."

"That's pretty much it."

Hermione nods then locks arm with Draco as they stand there, "You know, you're a pretty cool guy Draco."

"I know." they share another laugh together. They stay there until they know quidditch practice is over then split ways. Hermione smiles at the new friendship she has, for she knew sooner or later, she will probably lose the friends she has now.

Hermione walks into the Gryffindor house where she sees Ginny crying on the couch, "Ginny what's wrong?"

"Dean... he's such an ass!"

"You guys are fighting again?"

"He dumped me! He thinks I'm cheating on him with Cormac!"

"Cormac? Why would he think that?"

"Dean saw me talking to him during practice."

"Cormac is on the team with you. What, you can't talk to teammates now?"

"We weren't talking about quidditch."

Hermione sat next to Ginny, placing her coat on the arm of the couch, "What were you two talking about then?"

Ginny looks at Hermione and smiles, "You."

"Oh no! Ginny, I'm not into Cormac, he's vial!"

"And cute!"

Hermione stands up and walks in front of the fireplace, warming her hands up, "I'm good thanks."

Ginny stands up holding Hermione's coat, "Where were you?"

"The library."

"Then why do you have a coat with you? You don't need to walk outside at all to get to the library."

Hermione turns around and looks at her coat, "I went for a walk afterwards..."

"Really?"

Hermione starts to pull her sleeves over her hands to hold them in place, "Yeah, why?"

"I don't know... you sure you weren't with a boooooy?" Ginny teased as she starts to dance around with the coat.

Hermione starts to laugh, " Oh my god Ginny! Give me my coat!"

Hermione chases Ginny around for her coat for a while before they both sit on the couch out of breath. Hermione reaches over and touches her coat, "Tag." She says out of breath. They share a laugh before heading off to dinner.
