Chapter Twenty-Three
"Black Swan"
•
Jimin stared at Jungkook's canvas, he was sitting on the floor of his workplace. "I don't even know his past..." He mumbles.
However, he feels like he had known him his entire life. He recalls their first kiss, and it was him who asked Jungkook to kiss him first. That night, his heart fluttered uncontrollably but, at that moment, he was happy. Honestly, he was always happy since he met Jungkook, his life became colorful and beautiful.
He closes his eyes and touches his lips. He tries to envision Jungkook's face smiling at him. And somehow, he feels, okay.
Suddenly, his phone rang, he looks down on the floor and picks up the buzzing phone. "Hello?"
"Jimin, where have you been?" It was Hoseok.
Jimin skipped school for the past two days, "I'm not feeling well."
"Oh? Do you need anything? I can drop by there if you need me. Also, I haven't seen Taehyung, are you guys, okay?" Hoseok asks, voice laced with concern. His instincts were always strong.
"No hyung. I'll manage." Jimin answers.
Hoseok hums, "Just as long as you finish your dance performance within 3 days because they told us it was going to be a big event. They said critics from other schools may watch this Friday. We need to give it everything we got. Are you done with your choreography?"
Jimin forgot, after everything that's been happening in his life, he didn't have enough time. But for some reason it didn't worry him, his emotions are overflowing, "It's okay... I'm going to dance my heart out for this performance."
"That's the spirit, Chiminie. I'll see you this Friday then! Take care, okay?" Hoseok says before he ends the call. Jimin takes a deep breath as he stands up. He then moves Jungkook's canvas to the side along with the other paint-related stuff. He was left with enough space in the middle. There was no mirror to check if he's making any mistakes as he moves. But this will be his workplace from now on, he tells himself.
He had already chosen the song he wanted to work with, he was hesitant at first because he thought he can't deliver. But now, he doesn't want to cry anymore, nor does he want to waste another day moping around. He will overcome this heartbreak and he will be his own, black swan.

Jimin looks at himself in the mirror of the dressing room. He hears a knock from the open door, and he peeks through the mirror to see who it was.
"Hey," Namjoon greets. "It's packed out there. Did you see Hoseok's performance?"
Jimin nods in affirmation. "The crowd loved him. I didn't think they would merge all the dancers. This looks more like a competition now, does it?"
Namjoon smiles at him, "You always danced in a group, it's your first time doing a solo performance, how are you holding up?"
Jimin chuckles, "Is that why you're here? Are you worried I'd chicken out?"
Namjoon laughs at that, "Nah. I'm excited to see you perform. By the way, you look like an angel in all white."
Jimin appreciates how not one of his friends brought up the fact that Taehyung wasn't with him for the past few days. They didn't prod nor asked him anything they just supported him.
"Thank you for the compliment and for being here. I know Hoseok hyung would be here too if he could." Jimin smiles wide as he stands up and straightens his shirt. He gives himself one last look in the mirror. "I'm ready."
