Chapter Twenty-Eight
"Goodbye"
♣
The ball bounced lightly, stopping beside Namjoon's foot. He lowered down to pick up the ball and looks at the group of men murderously. "Who wants to go first?"
The guy standing in the middle laughed. "Don't be fucking ridiculous. We can go one-on-one. I pick Jimin, since he looks angry at me." He said it casually, and the others laughed along. Jimin glared at him the moment he heard his name.
"Wow. Be careful what you wish for," Namjoon chuckled. "Yeah, sure—Jimin is cute as fuck, but he's a black belt in kendo and has received training in taekwondo."
The three guys continued laughing. "Who cares? Don't worry, it was a joke. I don't wanna hurt Jiminie, so why don't we just get this over with?" he said, stepping forward as he swung his arm toward Namjoon.
Namjoon easily dodged the attack and quickly landed an uppercut, sending the guy crashing to the ground.
With the ball still in his other hand, he smashed it into the guy's stomach, making him cry out in pain. Namjoon then crouched down, sitting back on his heels. "Next?"
Another one launched himself toward Namjoon, throwing punches aimlessly. It was almost hilarious, Namjoon thought. He kicked the guy in the shin and then hit him square in the face with his fist. Namjoon let out a laugh of satisfaction.
The last guy quickly scrambled, trying to escape, but Jimin appeared in front of him. Jimin lifted his knee and rotated on his standing foot. Before the guy could even react, he was already struck by the ball of Jimin's foot. He slammed into the wall and passed out.
Namjoon whistled. "That's going to hurt."
Jimin merely shrugged and went back to tend to Hoseok.
Namjoon crouched down again and stared at the two men lying on the ground. "Hurt my friends again, and I won't hold back anymore." He clicked his tongue and kicked the ball at them.
"Namjoon, let's go," Jimin pleaded as he looked at Hoseok, who looked completely burned out.

"Hyung, why is your shirt wet?" Jimin asked.
They were at Hoseok's apartment now.
Hoseok looked at him, embarrassed. "It was their water bottle."
"Wait—why would they do that?" Namjoon prodded as he sat down on the couch, exhausted.
Jimin looked at Hoseok carefully. "We were both chosen as candidates."
Namjoon's mouth fell open in surprise upon hearing that both of his friends had been given the opportunity.
"Wow, that's amazing!"
"Hm." Hoseok only hummed as he walked toward the bathroom. Once he was inside, Jimin went and sat beside Namjoon.
"You think he'll be okay?" Namjoon asked, concern etched on his face.
Jimin looked unsure and shrugged.
"But do you think he'll accept the scholarship?" Namjoon continued.
Jimin shifted his gaze to the coffee table in front of them. "I hope he does."
"Are you?" Namjoon asked.
Jimin looked away, anywhere but at Namjoon.
"Yes."
"Does Taehyung know?" Namjoon asked. "By the way, he told me you guys didn't break up."
