Chapter Five
"Dreams"

Five years ago...
"Art gallery?"
"Someday I want my artwork to be displayed in this gallery!" Taehyung exclaimed with a bright smile. His eyes twinkling with aspiration. "And you'll be a witness to my success!"
Jimin giggled while nodding his head in anticipation. "Yes. No doubt about it." They continued to walk inside the art gallery. To Jimin every single painting was beautiful, he was entranced by how amazing these people can paint. The way the colors bloomed to life was just wonderful to him.
"Wow, the landscape ones are perfect," Taehyung said gaping.
Jimin nodded in agreement. "Tae Can you excuse me for a sec. I need to pee."
Taehyung laughed, "Okay, okay-- no problem take your time."
Jimin then proceeded to walk towards the comfort room when he accidentally heard a conversation.
"I know someone will buy my painting! Don't put it down please." The boy pleaded, "I need this."
Somehow that piqued Jimin's interest as he stopped in his track to listen, pretending to look at another painting adjacent to the younger boy. How was he able to put his work up there? He thought.
"Look I understand you okay? But yours have been on display for months now and I don't see anyone interested at all. The only reason you're here anyway is because of your elder brother if it wasn't for him no one would have allowed you to put this up here. Remember you need a license." The man explained quite conflicted.
Jimin then tried to glimpse at the painting and saw a boy sitting in a windowpane staring at the moon. It looks like an amateur painting but for some reason, Jimin wanted to have it.
"I don't care if it's because of my brother but I need this purchased. I need money even if it's cheap." He said desperately, his voice trembling a bit. Jimin felt sad, the boy looked taller now that he's looking at him although he can only see his side profile. "Just one more day please."
The man sighed in frustration, "Just today. If no one still buys this, then I'm sorry but I have to take it down. This is how reality works kid."
The boy slightly shook his head before storming off. Jimin's eyes followed the boy and once he's sure the boy is out of sight, he approached the man who was also about to leave. "Wait, sir!"
"How much for this painting?"
His troubled expression turned into relief, a small smile etched on his face. He looked older than what Jimin had expected, "Sold then."

Jimin sat down on the couch immediately after returning to their apartment. "What?? " Taehyung exasperated as he unwrapped the painting his lover had bought.
Jimin looked at him quizzically, "Something wrong?"
Taehyung looked at him as if he had lost it, "Out of like a hundred art there you chose this amateur one?"
"Taehyung..." Jimin sighed, "We all start at something right?"
"This ain't it Jimin." He scratched the back of his neck. "JJK?"
"Hmm?"
"Initials of the painter," Taehyung said pointing at the initials in the back corner of the painting.
Jimin doesn't even know the name of the boy. "And yours will be KTH."
"If, and only if I become successful. Oh, and don't change the subject babe." Taehyung smiled, putting the painting down on the coffee table. "Things we do for love." He exclaimed before walking towards Jimin who he captured in his arms.
