Chapter six

"Love"

Jimin watched as Taehyung ate slowly without glancing at the other. Jimin wanted to speak just to start a conversation but for some reason, he felt sheepish even after he told the taller their past. He omitted the rough times of their relationship in where they would fight over trivial matters that eventually spiraled out of control. He couldn't tell him about the times in where he would leave Jimin crying alone.

Taehyung cleared his throat snapping Jimin from his thoughts, "I'm done." He announced looking a little lost.

Jimin nodded, "Should we wash the dishes together?"

Taehyung gave him a quizzical look.

"What is it?" Jimin asked.

The taller slowly nodded his head, "Alright." He picked up the plates carefully stacking them. Jimin also did the same and they went to the sink. Taehyung had a serious look on his face that Jimin found funny.

"Seriously what is it? Don't tell me after the incident you also forgot to wash the dishes?" He questioned in a joking manner giving his lover a sideways glance.

When Taehyung didn't reply Jimin shot him a dumbfounded look.

Taehyung pressed his lips together somewhat looking guilty as he picked up a plate and turned the faucet on. "I hate washing."

Jimin laughed in disbelief. "Now you turned into a spoiled brat."

Taehyung smiled, "What?"

"I'll wash then you just put the plates back in the drawer," Jimin instructed as he took the plate Taehyung was holding. "Okay?"

Jimin started to wash the dishes while Taehyung stood next to him. "So Jimin what do we do now... What do we usually do on a Saturday morning?"

Jimin hummed, for the past few months they don't even do anything together. They were living in the same house, but it didn't feel like they were. "Before... you would watch in the living room, and I'd join you. Then lunch and we'd go out...and breath some fresh air and..." He shrugged absentmindedly looking at the running faucet.

Taehyung stared at him expectantly, "And?"

Jimin blinked, "Uh... We'd talk. It's all. I... I miss those times." He whispered at the end.

"Sounds like it'd been a long time," Taehyung commented as he turned his back from him. "Our relationship wasn't in its best before I got in an accident isn't it." He paused, his eyes looking elsewhere but Jimin. "That's why you asked if I was staying."

Jimin slowly turned the faucet off. He let out a shaky breath, his heartbeat suddenly fastened. "Our relationship was on the rocks. We even broke up a couple of times and eventually found our way back to each other... In some way... You come back." Tears welled from his eyes as he recalled their broken promises and the pain that came and never left.

"I hate it Tae, I hate the feeling that I get when I'm alone and I feel helpless waiting for you."

His tears gradually fell down his cheeks. Jimin placed the back of his hand to wipe his tears. "So, if you want to leave me this time. I want you to never come back. I want it to be the last time--the last hurt, pain I would feel. Because I don't think... I don't think --" Jimin stopped himself midway as he couldn't finish what he wanted to say.

"Hey, don't cry..." Taehyung grabbed Jimin's shoulder forcing the latter to face him. He placed his hand on the other's cheek softly. "I'm not going anywhere. I'm staying, okay? And I don't know how I was able to hurt you... I want to make up for the times we had lost. You don't deserve the pain. You're a wonderful person Jimin." Taehyung smiled, wiping Jimin's tears with his thumb. "I will try not to make you cry again."

Jimin nodded as he cried leaning towards Taehyung's chest as the other welcomed him in his arms. "Thank you, Taehyung."

"Let's start over again, shall we?" Taehyung asked hugging the older tighter. Jimin looked up at the taller with a pond smile on his face.

Taehyung looked bored as he kept changing channels. Jimin handed him a bag of chips, glancing at the television before settling in beside the taller.

Taehyung cleared his throat that made Jimin shot him a questioning look. The taller stared at Jimin. "What?"

"Uh, I think the couch is big enough for both of...us? " He pressed his lips, his cheeks turned red as he spoke. Jimin then realized he was sitting so close to the other that space was almost nonexistent he glanced at the other end of the couch that was left empty.

Jimin's lips formed an O as he realized that Taehyung must be feeling uncomfortable since he doesn't remember anything about him. Jimin bit his lower lip in embarrassment as he scooted away but Taehyung quickly stopped him. When the smaller looked at the other he pulled Jimin close to his side. "I change my mind. I guess it's okay... " Taehyung stated quite shyly.

Jimin nodded while trying to suppress his smile. Taehyung didn't say anything. He's trying to concentrate and comprehend what he is watching and at the same time trying to ignore Jimin who was stuck beside him.

"Taehyung?"

When Taehyung didn't reply he called his name again but the taller didn't budge. He then placed his hand on the other's arm which earned him a stare.

"If you have any questions, you can ask me now." Jimin offered.

"Oh right... Uhm last night you said we had another room in here full of boxes?"

"Yes... Actually, those boxes contain some of your finished and unfinished paintings." Jimin explained, "It's where you'd sit down and paint before. There came a time where you gave up and left the room, but I didn't want to just leave them there."

Taehyung eyes wandered, "I paint." He mumbled giving Jimin a knowing smile. "Maybe I can paint you."

"Me? You usually paint landscapes." Jimin said but that idea thrilled him in a way. He asked Taehyung before, but he refused and said he couldn't draw him perfectly.

"And by the way don't we have any endearment?"

Jimin hummed thinking, "Not really although you'd call me babe sometimes."

"How about we call each other "love"? Would you like that?" Taehyung asked with a wide grin on his face.

Jimin's smiled brightly at that, "Yes, I like that."
