Chris Evans : Deception

Part 7

Your sitting in the boardroom with your mac book taking minutes of the meeting for Matt. The entire time you can feel eyes on you. Every once in a while you feel the eyes on you, you look you just can't help but look at him. He is putting in his own input, he never mentions how much he can't wait to make the movie. Everyone is more concerned with Covid and the new measures they need in place to ensure everyones safety on set. You look at him another time with a quick glance, but this time Chris caught and he just smiles at you. 

"What do you think Y/n about, if i star in Little Shop of horrors remake?" Chris asks you

Your just in shock not sure what to say "really I grew up watching that movie, it is one of my favourite's. I think if it doesn't cost too much even if it does to should be re made. This new generation doesn't even know about it." you say.

"Look see people want this movie made, I want to make it I love Little Shop, I agree we need to make sure everyone is safe on set. Just what is going on it keeps being delayed." Chris says smiling at you.

You just keep your face in the laptop, keeping up with everything said in the meeting. They all agree it needs to get done. However Matt informs them studios are shutting down productions that the virus has hit America and getting out of hand. They meeting is long but contracts are signed. Matt says he is working in talks with studios on everyones behalf, trying to figure out production date. He informs everyone though right now the studio wants Little Shop pushed back a little while for now. When the meeting ends, your left to clean up with boardroom everyone is leaving, Chris walks over to you.

"Hey thanks for the input on this, these meetings are always back and forth on everything. Do you need any help with anything y/n." he asks.

"Ah, um, no thanks but I am good you probably got a lot going on that you need to get too, thanks for offering." you say, going about your business.

Chris just looks for a minute watching you than leaves saying Goodbye, he isn't sure what to think about you. Once he leaves you let out a huge breath of shock, still remembering his words early. You really are confused and starting to wonder if that on fake account was in fact him. Rolling your eyes it can't be him is just not possible. You head to Matt's office he asks you to do some filing of everything.

"y/n thank you for you help in the meeting, this whole pandemic has got everyone scrambling. I wanted to let you know if worse happens and we get put into a lockdown, working from home is an option having everyone safe is the top priority." he tells you.

"Matt, you really think this Covid-19 will come to that, I am hoping it isn't as bad as they are saying." you say.

The idea of working from home and being in a lockdown, isolated from the world and your family worried you. After the past few months you where finally moving on and happy again. You where working at a job you loved, you and Jill where having a blast on the weekends in New York. Now this pandemic it was starting to worry everyone and you heard rumours of things being shutdown, businesses being closed, like life was about to come at stand still. You wonder how would life be than, what would you do to pass the time if it came to that. 

"y/n we will be able to do zoom calls if we need too for work, and meeting can be held on there, what do you know about politics as well?" he asked.

"I know a little my dad has always been big into them, and made it a point to talk openly with us growing up. I know there is and election this year, I hope that man in the white house is done in there this time. Why do you ask?" you ask.

"Well I can't give too much detail, but Chris and his partners have a website coming this year sometime. It is something he has been working on for years. Anyways I like my employees to do research on things like that incase it ever comes up in meetings. Like today when he asked your thoughts on Little Shop remake." Matt said.

"Oh ok, well I can talk to my dad a little and learn more." you say.

"Ok y/n you can go home now today was busy and a lot to handle, have a good weekend as well. Oh my wife was wondering if you where busy on the weekend, I gave her your contact hope that is ok." Matt says.

"No Matt that is fine, she is great we had a good time the other day. Enjoy your weekend too." you say as you head out the office.

You start walking down the street towards the subway, your phone goes off, of course Jill is texting about today already. "Hey chick how was your meeting with Mr. Evans did you lose all thought at the site of him. Did he talk to you at all?" You roll your eyes at her message and start typing back. "Hey idiot, love ya girl, meeting was fine no didn't say much to me or him ok. Yes I could focus sure he is attractive, but he is just a human. Get a life lol. Just walking and will be on subway soon, she you at home." You get on the subway eventually, you got your earbuds in listening to music. All of sudden you get a notification on twitter, you open the dm and again this is a fake one. You just roll your eyes at the message, but you angry even after today. Just say look enough already, my boss is part of his team so stop and leave me alone. You just report them and delete it again. Once you get home Jill is standing there and she is all ears.

"Ok what happened, did you look at him at all?" she asks.

"I mean ya, I couldn't help but sneak glances at him, I looked away before he could noticed me, well except one time he caught me." you say

"He caught you looking at him, how he must have been looking at you than, what did he do" she asks.

"Jill seriously, he only caught me starring, trust me that guy wouldn't look twice at me, but he asked me to show him to the washroom. He said something weird like that fake account with the blue check mark said it was the same word for word. It freaked me out but I know it really isn't him. Just my hope and overthinking." you said.

"y/n why wouldn't he look at you, you have got to stop your a beautiful girl with a good heart, really he be lucky to even get a 5 minute talk with you." Jill said.

"Ok Jill, but lets live in reality, look I love you girl. But no, I bet you he left the office never even thinking twice about me, I was just there to take minutes of the meeting nothing more." you say.

Jill eventually drops it, you guys eat dinner and watch the news both concerned about the pandemic and how life could change very soon. You just where never prepared for just how much your life is about to change, the bad and the good.
