Chris Evans : Deception

Part 15

Your tossing and turning in your sleep. Widow is crashed out right beside your leg curled up on the bed. She loves it all. You keep wondering thinking why the hell is he even talking to me. The man is busy with his work, his life and I'm just me. You get everyone is living working from home their lives are pushed with the pandemic to some point. You remember Chris tell you are unique and everyone is special. Thinking he is just a human and being kind and nice. You resolved to go you know him through working for Matt and he's just making conversation nothing more. Yes you have crush on him, millions of men and woman do around the world. You just realize he's just reaching out checking in like anyone would do with anyone. Just thinking is this whole lockdown getting to you mentally and you waiting for it to end finally. Eventually you relax around 3am and get some sleep.

"y/n wake up you got to come see this in the living room!" Jill yells at you. 

Your rubbing your eyes wondering what she is freaking out about, your half asleep looking at your alarm clock it says 8:30am. 'Ugh, Jill please just let me sleep more, I am exhausted, I didn't go to sleep till 3am." You roll over with the covers and close your eyes.

"Get out of bed now, get up you need to see this right now." Jill says as she rips your comforter off of you.

"Jill your are such a bitch right now. I don't have much to do today for work. I have zoom meeting with Matt, his clients at 2pm let me sleep for another hour." y/n beg her. 

Jill laughs at you. "y/n you got a meeting with your IG  boyfriend do you, than you have got to come see for sure what is in the living room"

"You need to stop, I have only messaged with that verified account a few times and yes I know it really him. Jill there is nothing there ok, he was just being a nice guy saying thanks to a fan nothing more." You say as you get up and follow her into the living room.

You look and see Widow lying down on huge Dog bed with new toys, a new blue collar and leash. Your looking wondering where they came from. Your thinking Jill bought them really. "Wow Jill you went to the pet store and spent money on Willow, these are really cute toys and everything, she already had some though."

Your looking at Jill, who just rolled her eyes at you. She laughing at you at the same time. "y/n you are so blind, I didn't buy this stuff the card with blue roses on the counter bought them."

You glance over and see a dozen or so maybe less blue roses in a clear vase. There is a card with them, of course Jill opened them, right away your thinking Eric sent them in his attempt to get you back. Jill would not be this happy though if Eric had sent them, in fact she would have thrown it all away. You look at the card, your heart is pounding as you read the card. You eyes feel like their about to fly out of you head. The card says "Hi y/n, Dodger and I wanted to send these gifts to your new Dog Willow. We are happy you got a good forever home. From Chris and Dodger." P.S but it was really Dodger's idea." There was a smily face on the card as well. 

What the shit is literally going over and over again in your head. you look over at Jill shocked. "How the, what the shit Jill just how." 

Jill is smiling "y/n, it's really sweet of him to send this to you. Why did he though?" 

"I don't know, I mean the world knows he loves dogs. I haven't even talked with him, much although, I got that verified account a few times trying to contact more than once till I gave in. I know it's him, he brought up with meeting Matt had with him that I was present for no one else would have known that. Just how did he get my address to send this, better yet why." you ask.

Jill is looking at you, you can see her mind turning with thoughts. "y/n, let me see your your messages with him. I mean if your ok with that at all." she asks.

You go get your phone and show her the dm's. She looking them over she even asks you about what happened at your office with the meetings. You even mention running into him at the coffee shop and him buying you coffee the one time and walking into your office with you. Jill starts smiling at you "y/n he bought you coffee, he somehow figured out where we live, bought our dog presents and flowers. Maybe he likes you."

You are shocked at what she says, yes in your wildest dreams you wish that, but seriously this is reality. "Jill he is just being nice, your brain isn't working, remember he loves dogs. Plus we hard have messaged at all. He is just nice guy."

You walk back to your room and shut the door, looking down at your phone and Instagram you go to type a messaged but stuck on what to say or ask him. You just send him "Thank you for the gifts for my dog Willow, let Dodger know she likes them." You hit send. and head into the shower. 

When your all cleaned up and dressed you login on to your mac book,  going over work emails Matt had sent your for clients. You get a nagging feeling as you have heard your phone get texts and notifications but ignore them. You keep wondering though if Chris responded to your text. Maybe you just have put Thank you and that's all. You get lost in thought of the last meeting you had with work and Chris, how he kept smiling and smirking over at you. Jill's words come in your head in your day dream, you instantly are pulled out of them when you see and email to Matt yesterday afternoon from Chris. The subject line reads "Hey buddy what is your assistant y/n address." He asked your boss for your address, you know Matt clearly read and responded to the email. Your tempted to look at the email, but are fighting the urge to look at it. When your phone starts ringing.

You look at the number is got a 781 area code which you know is the Boston area. You know people there which is ok, but you don't know this number at all. "Hello." you almost fall over while standing at school at the "Hello" back you get.
