Chris Evans : Deception

Part 9

You been at your desk working for a little bit. You still are thinking and stuck on the fact that Chris Evans might have called you rude. Rolling your eyes, thinking yes he is a nice guy for sure. He sure has a flaw of assuming that about me. You just didn't want to bother the man more at all. That your capable of walking to work all on your own. Especially after the past few months. Matt had told you make sure you drop those contracts, you looked at the time thinking shit the time had gotten away from you. What was that guy doing to your mind today. Matt came walking out of his office, he saw you at your desk.

"Y/n are you leaving soon to drop off those contracts?" Matt asked.

You look over in shock snapping out of your thoughts "Oh Matt yes I was about to leave and 5 minutes." 

"Ok, just try not to be rude to them." Matt said. 

You got annoyed and could feel the words coming out as you said them "Matt who said I was being rude?"

Matt looked in shock "y/n just Chris said you where really quiet in the meeting yesterday, and that he pumped into and offered to walk you to the office today you told him no."

"Seriously, Matt I only told him thank you for the offer but I was ok. I know he is a super busy guy with a lot going on. I didn't want him to go out of his way just to walk me to work. I'll say I am sorry if I came off that way if he is there today." you say.

Matt is shocked about you snapping and reaction. "Is everything ok y/n do you have an issue with Chris or something, you can talk to me?" Matt asked.

You take in a deep breath and just say it "Look Matt I am sorry I reacted the way I did, I just ya I follow him on Twitter, but doing that means a lot of fake accounts contact me harassing me pretending to be him. I feel bad for him it isn't his fault. Sorry boss I'll tell him sorry." you say walking out the office.

"Y/n fake accounts we need to talk about this more, but tomorrow this pandemic is getting worse and we all need to start working from home starting tomorrow." Matt tells you.

"What working from home, I thought you said not till next week? Ok I have zoom on my laptop so should be fine." y/n say.

"Yes, the government is going to make an announcement there is even a lockdown coming at some point, just no one knows when." Matt says.

You leave the office in shock, thinking a lockdown, working from home is one thing, but not being able to see your family. You where supposed to go with Jill and family to your cousins wedding in Boston next month, but you where told it might not happen cause of covid. You get upset for her, thinking at least she wasn't going to be left at the altar like you where. You wanted to see her wedding though. You text her asking about it wondering if it will happen. She texted back saying yes, but is going to be smaller, at the family home still just only family, no one else. Sarah told you where is invited would only be about 20 people. She did say she was trying to find a family friend for your date. You said fine your wedding, your rules. You continued walking on the sidewalk looking at your phone texting her. Your almost at Chris Evans agents office, than you literally fine yourself falling on your ass on the ground. Why you where texting you ended up walking right into someone. Looking up he's got his hand out to help you up. You look up and realize who it is and of course of all people you walk into it's him.

"Hey are you ok? I have heard texting and driving is dangerous but walking is a whole new level for me." Chris says.

You start laughing a little at his joke. You take his hand and can't help but feel a spark or something with him, you try to ignore it thinking come back to reality girl. "Oh I don't even have to be texting and walking to end up on my ass. Apparently I still haven't mastered how to walk my life. Not my fault though the ground hates me and bullies every chance it gets." you say.

"hahahahaha, you got a good sense of humour about yourself that's good at least. I'm sorry though didn't mean to knock you on the ground." Chris says.

You roll your eyes at him a little, thinking "Sure you didn't Mr. Evans. haha I'm sure your used to knocked woman over with just a smile everyday." you say joking hoping you didn't offend him.

He looks at you not sure what to think but he is laughing at your comment.

"Ya think you have me confused with Chris Helmsworth. Girls and men drop even at the mention of his name." he says.

You are thinking seriously, "I guess woman like him, good thing he has no effect on me." you say.

"Thank you for helping me off the ground though, I just was getting here to drop off some papers for you agent and manager. Also I wanted to say sorry for this morning. Just I know your really busy didn't want you to stress or worry me. I can manage on my own, always have." you say.

"I'm sure you can, other than a couple minutes ago. Also you didn't have to apologize to me, just glad you got to work safely and in one piece." he says as he holds the door to the building open for you.

He tells you to follow him to the elevator, heading to his agents office. You can't help but glance at him once in a while. Hoping he doesn't notice, you thought you caught him looking at you too. You tell you mind shut up, he didn't look at you no one would. Once you get in the elevator he looks at you.

"So y/n can I ask you something?" Chris asks.

"Sure, what do you want to know?" y/n say.

He looks worried to ask you but does anyways. "So someone told me your getting harassed online by fake accounts using my name. Just know I would do that to anyone. Those idiots are garbage. I just hope you haven't been scammed." Chris says.

You mind goes nuts thinking Matt really he mentioned it. "Fuck, look I am sorry, it's not right these morons do this to you, your famous but a human still. No don't worry I don't talk to them I just report and block them. Even this one, he keeps coming back, I'm not the best with technology but how they have time to photoshop your verified check mark onto making a fake twitter account, like get a job instead. Look sorry just have had bad end of last year and this made it worse but it's not your fault." y/n say.

"I'm glad your safe on there, ya they are just scum. What happened to you last year if you don't mind me asking? Chris asks.

"My fiance, we where together for years, we where getting married around Christmas, which is my favourite holiday. He left me at the altar, it's really embarrassing. My cousin she getting married in Boston next month, I am happy for her. She just is like get a date move on already." y/n say.

"Wow that's hard to go through, you still love him?" he asks

"No, looking back he wasn't always nice to me, didn't treat me good. I get my cousins point I need to get out there." y/n say.

"He is an idiot for leaving you just know that." he says, as your guys get off the elevator and walk into his agents office. You drop off the papers and head out to leave. Looking back you say bye to Chris he waves saying goodbye with a smile at you. Not before he tells you one more thing though.  "Hey y/n, just heads up you can't photoshop that verified checkmark into a new account on twitter. You need proof that is really you, I like your tweets you do sometimes. Have a nice night beautiful." he says.

You leave the office in shock at what he had just told you. You head home not sure what to think you open twitter no new dm's from fake accounts. You manage to find the verified accounts dm's though, you tried to report them thinking no way in hell it's Chris Evans. You look at the dm's right there again next to his name is that blue check mark. You can't believe hoping what Chris said in the office was untrue, you go on google looking up with you can have a fake account of a famous persons name using the verified check mark. All you keep finding is if they sent you a photo of the account than it would have been photoshop. You keep looking at the dm and clicking the name and info button in the right top corner. It keeps going to Chris's actual account, the one you even retweeted something he posted 2 days ago. You go back to the dm trying to convince yourself this isn't real somehow a faker scammer has mastered this all. Your about to close out twitter and head to the kitchen to make dinner than you look and see the 3 dots moving in the dm's with Chris you realize he is online. Your too shocked so you put close out the app and leave your phone for later.
