Chris Evans : Deception

Part 8

That night you lying in bed trying so hard to sleep, but you just keep hearing his words in your head. How he isn't the most technology savvy guy. Your ming is thinking maybe is was him but again, your tell yourself there is no fucking way. Just your overthinking and second guessing everything getting to you. You decided to watch a movie on you tv, your looking on apple tv and find on of your favourites, yes it happens to be Chris Evans movie. Puncture, you cry at it every time thinking how Mike Weiss never got to see the outcome of the case. How you truly feel it was a story that needed to be told. Your mom was a retired nurse so you used to here horror stories of the ER she worked in sometimes growing up. Eventually you fall sleep during the movie during your favourite part. Where he is arguing with the other character about having the courage to fight for what's right. 

In the morning you have over slept, you jump out of bed rush to the shower. Get ready for work and race out the door after grabbing your phone and purse. You rush to a cab and tell the driver to drop you at the closest Starbucks at your office. Looking at your phone, you see another profile, but don't know the name, you open the dm and read. "Hello my name is Terry I work for Chris Evans, I am his meet an greet manager, I see that your fan of my client. If you like to meet him as he would like to meet you contact me." You just roll your eyes at the stupidity of the message. You remember the meeting there was not one person there was named Terry. You report and block the account thinking would they just get a life already. 

The cab pulls up just outside of Starbucks and you run in grabbing a Tea for you and latte for Matt. You looking for your wallet to pay when you hear a voice. 

"I'll get that for the lady. May I also get a tea latte." the man's voice said.

You hear the voice and already know in you mind who it is but your hoping it's not really him. You turn to say thank you and stand in front of you looking down at you is Chris. 

"Um. Thank you that is really nice of you but you don't need to pay for me." you say to him.

"No it's ok, you work for my lawyer right you name is y/n, you where at the meeting yesterday?" he asks you

"Oh yes, Mr. Evans that was me, thank you for paying for the drinks that was nice of you. Sorry but I need to be walking to my office now. I hope you have a good day." y/n say.

"Oh ok, y/n no problem, just is it ok if I walk you to your office, just would like to know you got work safely."  Chris says.

"Really Mr. Evans that is nice of you but it isn't that far, thank you for the offer but I will be ok." you say.

"Ok than, y/n I hope you have a nice day though." Chris says as he opens the door for you as you walk out.

You turn to the left to start walking to work, you look back for a second noticing Chris was still there but on his phone talking to someone. You smile for a split second and he see you smiles back at you. You can't help it he just so nice looking, and even nicer in person. You know he has good heart and feel bad that you told him no. Really though you keep wondering why is he so nice to me there is nothing amazing or special about me at all. You just wish the stupid fake accounts would stop and leave you alone, stop doing this to Chris he is a human too. You get into work, walk to you desk and leave your tea there, and head to Matt's office to drop off his latte. Your shaking worried cause your 30 mins late for work and he is already there, you walk in and hear him on the phone.

"Oh yes she just walked into my office, don't worry boss she is safe. I let your manager know more today about the contract Chris." Matt says.

Your thinking what the hell, Matt was on the phone with Chris Evans and told him "she just walked into the office now" Your just in shock why the hell was Chris calling to check on you with Matt, or why was he at the Starbucks. You had been going there everyday for months and never once have you ever seen him in there. You know he doesn't live in New York at all, not that following him or anything, you just have heard he lives in Boston and LA. Still you wonder why he was asking about you. Matt hangs up the phone and looks up at you.

"Y/n hey glad you made it here ok, thank you for the latte." Matt says.

"Ya Matt I'm really sorry, I didn't sleep well and didn't hear my alarm go off on my phone, I'm sorry it won't happen again." y/n say.

"Look it's ok Y/n it happens, just don't make it a daily thing, anyways I was going to let you know starting next week, you can work from home. This covid thing is getting out of hand and the numbers are going up. I rather everyone is safe, the good thing is we can have meetings over zoom and still get work all done. Sadly it's sounding more and more like studios are going to shut down productions to ensure everyone's safety." Matt says.

"Oh ok, I guess that's how it has to be, how does that work out for the meeting yesterday than?" y/n ask.

"Oh the contracts they have to be sent out today can you do that for me, can you take them to Mr. Evans agents office by 1pm, it isn't far from here just drop them off nothing more." Matt says

"Ok will do, anything else you need?" y/n ask.

"No but, seems you made some impression on my client yesterday, I guess you ran into him today,  just try not to come off rude ok." Matt says.

With that you leave the office and head back to your desk, thinking about what Matt just said, you came off rude. You thought you where pretty polite to Mr. Evans, that you didn't want to go out of his way to walk you to your work, taking time out of his already busy schedule. You remember the last time some told you that you where being rude, it was Eric some girl at his office was flirting with him right in front of you. She acted like you weren't even there when he was your fiance at the time. Eric told you where being very rude to her and it caused a 2 day long fight with you both. 

This time you where thinking of Chris he actually thought you where being rude to him, wow it got you mad and you somewhat hoped he would be there today when you dropped of the contract. If he asked you explain why you didn't need him to walk you to work and let him know what you have been dealing with if he called you rude. You didn't think he would do that but you figured he told your boss that you where, you'd find out your mistake eventually.
