Part 20: Shopping Trip

20th chapter?! Over 7k likes and with over 600 kudos and more than 21k hits?! I still don't know how I pulled this off or why you guys find this story so good. Let's do a chapter of fun and fluff. NO angst. I also want to make this a looooong chapter so look forward to that. I don't own Omori.

After finishing lunch, the group has decided to go shopping. Specifically at a place somewhere known to Aubrey and Kim. Hero and Kel need to go back home since they need to watch over their sister so they left ahead of time. Basil also wants to ask Polly before going shopping so Aubrey, Sunny, and Kim were set on going. Or at least the girls were. Sunny didn't really want to go, but he doesn't have a good reason not to go. He really wishes that Basil will come since he doesn't want to be shopping with Aubrey and Kim with just him. Mari already traumatized him somewhat by making him try on piles and piles of clothes while making him walk through the women section with her.

"Alright, I'll be back soon." Basil said as he exited the house.

Aubrey and Kim look like they could burst from excitement.

"Are you thinking of going where I think we're going?" Kim asks excitedly.

"You know it." Aubrey answers equally excitedly.

Sunny had no idea what the girls were talking about, but decided not to ask as he still has some pizza to finish. Unfortunately for Sunny, it was short lived as the girls noticed that Sunny wasn't following their enthusiasm. The two loomed over Sunny with an upset expression.

"Aren't you at least going to ask where we're going?" Aubrey asks Sunny.

"C'mon aren't you a least bit curious?" Kim adds.

"No..." Sunny answers, shrinking into his seat.

"Well then, I guess I should start explaining to you the wonders of the faraway mall!" Aubrey proudly says.

Sunny couldn't help but become curious. It's been awhile since he's been to a mall. He already sees the Othermart as a big place, so a mall that could excite Aubrey must be something.

"Have we got your attention now?" Kim asks eagerly.

Sunny simply shrugs his shoulders and that was enough to get the girls started.

~Meanwhile...

"Polly! I'm back!" Basil calls as he enters his house.

"Basil, where were you?" Polly asks from across the room. "I had to eat lunch without you since you were out for so long."

"I ate pizza with some friends." Basil said with a laugh.

It was very unusual for Basil to be late. Let alone hanging out with others. To Basil, saying such words were something that he thought he would never say again. It felt good.

"Hic..sniff.."

Basil looks at Polly who's beginning to cry, much to Basil's dismay. When Polly cries it could be a pain.

"WAHHHHH!!!!" Polly cries as she runs up to hug Basil. "You finally have friends! I'm so happy!"

Basil had a mixture of happiness and annoyance as he tried to squirm out of Polly's grip.

"Actually, about that, is it ok if I can go shopping with them?" Basil asks after finally getting Polly off of him.

"Of course you can!" Polly cries. "WAAHHHH!!! I can't believe your going out with friends!"

Polly has known Basil for over two years, despite being his caretaker for only a few months, and so she has seen him in states of depression. So seeing Basil acting like a normal high schooler brings tears to her eyes.
