Honey's birthday approached much faster than she anticipated. Although, she couldn't go all out for her 19th birthday like she wanted. She was going to make the most of it by celebrating with both family and friends alike. Honey brought in her birthday at home of course. She enjoyed a trip to Six Flags and a lovely picnic afterwards with her family. She was so relieved to see that they were safe after everything that was going on. Honey was still trying to find the right time to tell her parents about it. She vowed to herself that she was going to do it after her birthday weekend. She didn't want anything to put a damper on anyone's mood by revealing that information especially on her birthday. Just thinking about it had Honey mounted in complete worry.
"Hellooooo... is anybody home? Drink this. This is your 19th birthday. You can worry tomorrow."
Honey snapped out of her thoughts as she tuned into the sound of Angel's voice over the vibrations of booming music. Honey smiled sheepishly as their eyes connected. Angel stood there expectantly with a pierced eyebrow arched, her hand held onto the neck of the bottle she snuck in her purse since they were underaged and couldn't order alcoholic drinks. "I wasn't worrying. I was thinking about something." She lied as she earnestly took the shots glasses from her and sat them on the table within the booth where she was sitting.
Angel leaned against the table, tapping a finger on her temple."You're doing more thinking than drinking. I expect to see these glasses empty when I come back with Cyn and Royce. I mean it girly." She reprimanded, playfully. Angel was in better spirits than she was when Honey last spoke to her. The talk that Cyn and Honey suggested Angel have with Case did the trick. Luckily, everything was back to normal with them. At least one of them could flourish in a long term relationship.
"Relax. I'll enjoy these drinks. Tonight is our night I haven't forgot."
Since Honey spent the afternoon with her family. It was only fitting to hang out with her friends during the evening. They decided to go to a club in downtown Atlanta that was aimed towards young adults such as themselves. It was a popular spot for the students that attended their university. It was simple, but it was what Honey wanted for this occasion. Cyn and Angel had already treated her with gifts and a day at the spa before Honey went to visit her family. She didn't want to over do it. She was already truly grateful for what they have done for birthday as it is.
Honey pushed her hair over her shoulder as she watched Angel's retreating figure disappear within the bustling crowd. I've been such a party pooper since we arrived. I need to get in the birthday spirit or else. Determined to loosen up, Honey poured herself several shots and downed them all until her vision became hazy around the edges, a warm sensation settled in the pit of her stomach. "Why does alcohol taste like ass?" She coughed, her throat burned from the scorching hot aftertaste. She patted her chest as the bitter liquid traveled down esophagus, making her skin hot and clammy. She was going to have to learn how to mix a chaser with her alcohol. It was too bitter to keep drinking straight.
