Sarah P.O.V

Sometimes, we need to accept reality and stop wasting our time on the wrong people. I'm okay with sacrificing my time to make a relationship work, but in the end, there should be positive outcomes. Like Adrian, I deserve a stable life. He can't expect me to be a dutiful wife when all he did was find flaws in me while expecting me to overlook his own.

It's been five days since I moved back to my mother's house. Unlike those cliché stories, I didn't lock myself in a room and cry over my broken relationship. Instead, I continued with my normal routine because I can't afford to be weak over a marriage that was doomed from the start. I refuse to drown myself in misery.

From the beginning, it was clear that Adrian was in love with Jessica, and our marriage was nothing more than a business arrangement to boost our companies. But I never thought he would use and manipulate me, only to discard me like I meant nothing. It was selfish of him to ask me to care for Jessica while I was living in the mansion with them. That was the moment I decided I didn't want to be with him, even if it meant facing challenges in my life or business.

Now, I'm holding the divorce papers in my hand, which I had my lawyer prepare the day after I moved out. I take the pen and sign them, but before sending them to Adrian, I need to do one last thing.

I slip the papers into my bag and head to my car. As I drive, I reflect on everything that's happened, parking outside Parker Mansion, knowing this visit is essential.

The maid greets me warmly at the door, guiding me into the living room. I sit, waiting as she disappears to inform Lauren and James of my arrival.

Within minutes, Lauren walks in with a bright smile, greeting me with a hug. James soon follows, and I greet him with a side hug.

"Sorry to come unannounced," I begin, trying to sound casual despite the tension building within me.

"It's fine, Sarah. This is your home too. You're always welcome," James replies with a reassuring smile.

"How was your trip to London? When did you get back?" I ask, taking a seat across from them, trying to ease into the conversation.

"It was lovely! We landed five days ago. We were planning to visit you and Adrian this weekend. I'm glad you're here today; we could all have dinner together. Let me call Adrian," Lauren says, reaching for her phone.

Before she can call him, I quickly interject, "Actually, I'm here to talk about something important regarding me and Adrian."

Both of them look at me with concern as I take a deep breath. "We've decided to end this marriage. I'm filing for divorce."

"Why? What happened, Sarah? Did he say something to you?" Lauren asks, moving closer, her eyes filled with worry.

"It's been nearly two months since Adrian and I got married, but we've both realized that we can't be happy together."

"Sarah, I know the circumstances under which you got married, but divorce isn't the solution. Adrian won't find a better life partner than you," Lauren says, holding my hand.

"Sarah, I know my son. He has a habit of making poor decisions. Is he forcing you to do this?" James asks, his tone serious.

"No, he's not forcing me. This is my decision. Over these months, I've realized that Adrian's heart belongs to someone else, and staying in this marriage will only hurt us both."

"My grandfather and you agreed to this arrangement, but we deserve the right to live our lives. Don't force us to remain in a loveless marriage. Let Adrian and I decide our futures."
