Sarah P.O.V

It's been almost 20 minutes since Alessandro and Adrian left the room to talk and this whole while thousands of thoughts have been running through my mind.

What is taking them so long?

I hope Adrian isn't up to creating any new issues.

Engrossed in my thoughts I finished eating the fruit on my plate. I started scrolling through the phone and saw several posts about yesterday's event, there were several photos of the property along with the pictures of me and Adrian.

Just as I was about to delve deeper into the posts about yesterday's event, the door creaked open. Alessandro and Adrian walked back in, their faces unreadable. My heart raced a little faster, unsure of what news they might bring.

Alessandro approached me first. "Sorry for the delay," he said, his voice calm but firm. "We had a lot to discuss."

I glanced at Adrian, who was now staring at the floor, his hands shoved deep into his pockets. "What's going on?" I asked, trying to keep my voice steady.

Alessandro took a deep breath. "Adrian has agreed to cooperate. We think we've found a way to address the issues without causing further problems."

I felt a wave of relief wash over me, but it was quickly tempered by a sense of apprehension. "And what exactly does that mean?" I probed.

Adrian finally looked up, meeting my gaze. "It means I've decided to come clean about everything," he said, his voice low but resolute. "No more secrets."

His words hung in the air for a moment, the weight of them sinking in. I knew how hard it was for Adrian to admit his mistakes, let alone take responsibility for them. This was a big step.

Alessandro nodded. "We'll need to make some arrangements and inform our family. It's not going to be easy, but it's the right thing to do."

I nodded, feeling a mixture of pride and anxiety. "I'm glad you've made this decision, Adrian."

He shrugged, a small, almost embarrassed smile tugging at his lips. "It's about time I did something right."

The tension in the room seemed to lift slightly, replaced by a tentative hope. There was still a long road ahead, but for the first time in a while, it felt like we were heading in the right direction.

Alessandro turned to me. "We need to prepare all the important documents. Can you help with that?"

"Of course," I replied, already thinking about it. "I have already started with everything ."

As I gathered my thoughts, I couldn't help but feel relief. There were still challenges to face, but at least now I am not facing them alone, I have Alessandro with me.

"But I have one condition," Adrian interjected. "I want us to share joint custody of our child, even after we go through with the divorce. It's important to me that we both remain actively involved in their life."

His words took a moment to sink in, and I went into a stunned silence. Joint custody? The suddenness of his condition threw me off balance.

I took a deep breath, trying to gather my thoughts. "Adrian, why are you doing this now?" I asked cautiously. "It's a big commitment, and we've had so many differences and fights in the past."

Adrian nodded, his expression serious. "I know we haven't always seen eye to eye, Sarah, but I believe this is the best thing for our child. They deserve to have both of us in their life, no matter what happens between us."
