Adrian P.O.V

It's been six days since Sarah left the mansion. Even though I now have everything I ever wished for, it feels as if something is still missing. Today, I have Jessica with me, and soon I will be a father. Sarah has chosen to leave my life, but still, I'm not happy. Her absence is affecting me more than I expected.

You're missing her, Adrian.

Accept that.

I know I never truly wanted Sarah. Our marriage was a business arrangement, a decision I made for the sake of my company. And when she was here, I didn't waste any opportunity to humiliate or belittle her. I wanted her to feel the same pain I endured being separated from Jessica. I made her life miserable, hoping it would bring me satisfaction. But when she finally left, I thought I'd reclaim my happiness with Jessica and start the family I always dreamed of. Yet, why am I not satisfied? Why does my heart feel so empty?

Why is Sarah on my mind 24/7?

Why do I see Sarah's face whenever I close my eyes?

Why do I hear her voice echoing around the house, even though she's no longer here?

My thoughts were interrupted by the buzzing of my phone. I glanced at the screen and saw my best friend's name flashing.

"Hey, Adrian! Where are you? I thought we were hitting the club tonight. Still stuck at work?" His voice was loud, the background filled with the sounds of laughter and music.

"Sorry, Noah. I can't make it tonight. I've got a lot going on at home... with Jess... with Sarah." I lied, my voice trailing off.

Noah didn't know about the situation between Sarah and me. He had no idea that Jessica had moved back in with me. After seeing his reaction when he spotted me with Jessica at the restaurant, I decided not to tell him anything until the divorce was finalized. It would be easier to explain everything then.

"Ah, I see. Well, I'm just saying, I'm staring at Sarah right now, and she seems to be having a good time with her friend," Noah replied, his tone casual.

Sarah? At a club?

What is she doing there at this hour?

Is she happy after moving out?

Is she happy being away from me?

"Text me the address. I'm on my way," I said, already grabbing my coat and keys.

My heart raced at the thought of seeing her again. Within twenty minutes, I arrived at the club, my eyes scanning the place, trying to locate Noah or Sarah amidst the sea of people. The crowd was massive, making it impossible to spot anyone easily. I pulled out my phone and called Noah. After a few rings, he picked up.

"I'm here. Where are you guys?"

"I'm upstairs in the VIP section with Esther," he replied. I hung up and started making my way upstairs.

As I entered the VIP section, my eyes roamed the floor, looking for her. Instead, I found Noah chatting with Miss Caswell. I approached them, still searching for Sarah.

"Hey, Noah. Hello, Miss Caswell," I greeted them as they turned their heads.

"Adrian! You made it." Noah stood up and gave me a side hug, while Esther glanced at me with a look of disdain.

I took a seat across from them and ordered a drink, my eyes still scanning the room for that familiar brunette with hazel eyes.

Get a grip, Adrian.
