Cassie eventually followed the two to a bar where she sat quite a distance away from them and ordered herself a bourbon.

"Having a rough day?" The bartender asked as she passed Cassie the drink.

Cassie laughed slightly, taking a sip. "You wouldn't believe it."

"Is it true that some secret organisation came and cornered off that crater?" The waitress asked quietly, cleaning up the bar while talking to Cassie.

"Yeah, that's what I heard," Cassie told her quietly. "But I don't know a bloody thing about it. Who would?"

"Something tells me those two over there do." The waitress pointed over to two men. Coincidentally, Thor and Doctor Selvig, so she listened in on their conversation.

"For the first time in my life," Thor said solemnly. "I have no idea what I'm supposed to do."

Erik sighed. "Anyone who's ever going to find his way in the world, has to start by admitting he doesn't know where the hell he is."

"Thank you, for what you've done." Thor smiled gratefully.

"No don't thank me, I only did it for Jane. Her father and I taught at University together, he was a good man," Erik told him. "He never listened."

"Neither did I, my father was trying to teach me something but I was too stupid to see it," Thor shook his head, disappointed in himself.

Erik sighed. "I don't know if you're delusional or if you're pulling some kind of con I don't care. I just care about her. I've seen the way she looks at you."

Thor immediately dismissed the idea. "I swear to you I mean her no harm."

"Good. In that case I'll buy you another round and you leave town tonight."

Good. He was leaving.

Cassie never thought there was going to be a day in her life where she was driving around a desert in New Mexico, but here she was. She had gotten sick of everyone else and felt too confined inside the base so she took a jeep and went for a drive.

About ten minutes in, she saw something happening in the sky. Seconds later it touched the earth and as it left, the rainbow left 4 people standing around looking like lost puppies.

Somehow Cassie recognised the woman as Lady Sif, from the old Norse stories she was told as a child. The woman her and her sister Rebekah idolised. Cassie quickly jumped out of the car.

"Hello?" She shouted and they looked at her. "Can I help you?"

They looked towards each other in uncertainty before the woman walked forward. "I'm Lady Sif."

Cassie had to resist the urge to squeal in excitement. "It's nice to meet you. Is there anything I can do for you?

"Could you lead us to a man named Thor?" One of the men asked. "See, we were told to come here. It is crucial that we speak to him."

Cassie shrugged. "Sure, just come with me. I think I might know where he is."

They all jumped into the jeep and Cassie drove them through town to Erik, Jane and Darcie's place. None of them said anything, the four of them simply walked up to the window and banged on it with big smiles on their faces, Cassie behind them waving slightly.

"My friends!" Thor shouted as they all walked in. "This is good, this is good!"

They all stood in a group, excited to be reunited. "I don't believe it." Erik muttered to himself.

"Neither did I at first, "Cassie said and the man jumped in surprise. The three humans looked towards her. "I don't think I've introduced myself yet. My name is Cassandra, but you can call me Cassie."

Volsatgg walked forward. "Oh, excuse me. Lady Sif and the Warriors three." He introduced them all.

"My friends," Thor began, placing his hand on Hogun's shoulder. "I have never been happier to see anyone. But you should not have come."

All four of them looked at each other and Fandral scoffed. "We're here to take you home."

"You know I can't go home," Thor told them softly. "My father is dead because of me. And I must remain in exile."

Sif shook her head. "Thor, your father still lives."

"And the plot thickens." Cassie mumbled to Darcie.

Darcie raised her eyebrows. "I know right, someone get me some popcorn."

Cassie looked at her. "I like you." As they stood there, it was Cassie who noticed the commotion in the sky. "Uh, guys. You might wanna come look at this."

"Was somebody else coming?" Darcie asked as they all kept their eyes on the tornado. All of them walked outside to get closer look but then things started exploding.

"Jane you have to leave." Thor told her while the townspeople began to panic.

Jane looked at him. "What are you gonna do?"

"Thor's going to fight with us!" Volstagg replied, too much excitement in his voice.

Cassie chuckled. "Oh I'm so staying for this."

"You sound like you're having fun." Lady Sif laughed.

"Unlike me," Thor said. "I am just a man, I will be in your way but I will get these people to safety."

Jane walked forward. "Well if you're staying the so am I."

While everyone scattered to evacuate the town, Cassie stared off into the distance with disappointment written all over her face, so Darcie came over.

"What's wrong with you?" The brunette asked. "You look like someone just killed your puppy."

"Fuck. That thing's a robot," Cassie whined but Darcie just looked at her. "I can't eat robots."

They were in silence for a minute before Cassie said, "do you wanna offer up a vein or something?"

"No."

"Okay."
