Nostalgia hit Cassie like a truck when she drove past the 'Welcome to Mystic Falls' sign. When she first got the invitation to the ball, she contemplated on whether to not go, but after a bit of persuasion from Astrid she finally caved in.

Cassie bought herself a dress in New York before she left and then it only took her a few hours to get down there. She parked her car just outside the Mystic Grill and walked in and up to the bar.

"Bourbon please." She told the waiter and he obliged. "Do you happen to know where the Mikaelson's live?"

He gave her the drink. "Uh, yeah. It's the biggest house in town, just two blocks away," He told her and she nodded.

It didn't take her long to reach the Mikaelson residence and the front door was already open. The more she walked in she could hear Nik shouting at Rebekah.

"You went after Elena," He said to her.

"What?" She exclaimed in genuine surprise.

"Don't lie to me-"

"Sorry that was me. I couldn't help myself, I thought she was Katerina." Cassie smirked as she walked into the room. "You can never tell the difference between these doppelgängers."

Before she had gotten into the Mystic Grill she had accidentally almost killed Elena Gilbert, mistaking her for Katherine Pierce.

Everyone smiled. "Cassie!" Astrid exclaimed as she ran over and hugged her. "You can't scare me like that!" Astrid told her, referring to what happened in New York.

"Sorry mum," She replied sarcastically. She turned to Rebekah. "Did you enjoy homecoming Bekah?"

"Oh shut up," Rebekah laughed before hugging her tightly.

"Rebekah, I may be a vampire but I still need to breathe," Cassie wheezed and Rebekah let go.

Kol was next. "You know, you're second person who's forgotten about me," He complained.

"That's because you're not as important," She teased. He picked her up and pulled her into a giant hug. "Hello Finn." She gave him a hug then hugged Elijah.

Nik turned to her. "So you are alive then?" Nik asked sarcastically. "I save you from your near death and you don't contact me? What a sister you are."

She hit him on the arm. "It was 20 years ago, don't be dick," She told him.

"It seems to be one of his only talents at the moment," Kol muttered under his breath.

"Oh, go back to staring at yourself," Nik growled.

"And who are you? My father?" He said playfully.

"No Kol. But you're in my house," He reminded him.

"Then perhaps we should go outside," The younger one suggested.

"Enough." To Cassie's surprise, it was their mother. "Niklaus, come. Cassandra, it's good to see you."

there was a few moments of silence after she left the room. "So she is alive then?" Cassie concluded.

"Unfortunately," Kol sighed and put an arm round her. Cassie winced as her shoulder was still sore. "What is it?"

"Well, fighting aliens and a norse God isn't all it's cracked up to be." Cassie told them all. "Loki's a little bitch.

For the ball, Cassie was wearing a red dress that reached the floor with a slit up her right leg that matched with golden heels. her blonde hair was pulled back into a bun with a few strands hanging out to frame her face. And it had pockets, which the girl was very happy about.

The ball was already in full swing, their mother had gotten the best of everything. Everything looked so rich it made everyone in town look poor. She was linking Kol when walking in.

"She really went all out didn't she?" Cassie said, looking around. Half of the town seemed to be there, she had gotten a full band to play music and the decorations looked amazing.

"Yes she did," Kol replied. "Come talk to the Mayor with me." he didn't give her a chance to respond as he pulled them over to a woman who she presumed to be the Mayor. Who was stood with the one and only, Damon Salvatore. Speaking of great sex.

"Mayor Lockwood," Kol called out as they walked over. "We haven't formally met. Kol Mikaelson and this is my youngest sister Cassie."

The Mayor furrowed her eyebrows. "I've seen you somewhere before..." She trailed off, trying to remember and Cassie caught on.

"On the news?" Cassie asked and she nodded. "Yeah, I was in New York yesterday."

"Oh, that's right! You're an Avenger," Carol realised and shook her hand while Cassie stood there uncomfortably.

Kol cleared his throat to take the attention off Cassie. "I hope your lovely town embraces us just as we plan to embrace it," He smiled at her.

Damon held out his hand. "Damon Salvatore," He introduced himself. "Have we met? I've met Cassie, I know that but..."

Kol shrugged. "I've met a lot of people, and you don't particularly stand out," He told him and Cassie choked on her drink. She pulled him away so the conversation didn't escalate.

Elijah walked over to them. "Hey guess what?" Kol said to him. "Our Cassie's on the news!"

Cassie rolled her eyes. "There was an alien attack in New York, Kol." She reminded him. "Of course they put it on the news."

"I'm still confused as to what happened," Rebekah told them as she came up behind them.

Cassie put her empty glass on the waiters tray. "I'll shorten it down then." Cassie told them and they listened. "So according to Thor, Loki died apparently but it turns out he didn't. So then he comes to earth and he's like 'hey, I wanna take over this planet'. So then we all get called in to do some super-heroing things and then, Loki opens a portal in New York that brought a shit load of aliens through from space and then we had to fight them and they put it on the news."

Kol laughed and Elijah nodded his head. "Well done sister," He complimented.

"Thank you! I tried my best," She said and they got called to make a speech on the stairs.
