Cassie was currently in the Smithsonian. She came here quite often, she knew that her mind shouldn't be stuck in the past but she found it quite peaceful to reminisce every now and again. There was a certain memorial dedicated to her and Bucky - the picture they used was the same one Cassie was given by Bonnie on the day of his deployment.

Cassandra Mikaels, more commonly known as Cassie, was best friend to James Barnes and Steve Rogers even before the war. 

It was love at first sight, happier than any couple anyone had ever seen. The pair were a part of the Howling Commandoes and the SSR, with Cassie working from base and Bucky on the field.

After Bucky died it was said that Cassie was more heartbroken than anyone but it didn't stop her from defeating Hydra in 1945. Men described her as a headstrong women with too many opinions, the women described her as their idol, they saw the opinions as a positive thing.

After the war ended, Cassie was given the last of the super soldier serum before going into hiding for 50 years. She reappeared in the late 1990's, joining SHIELD and becoming known as Agent Mikaels. However, after 2012, she is more commonly known as The Warrior.

Cassandra Mikaels was said to be one of the best war heroes in history, despite not being on the field, it is often said the people behind the scene are the most dangerous. You never know what they're hiding.

"Yeah, I'm definitely hiding a lot." Cassie chuckled.

"Imagine losing your soulmate," A little girls said after reading it. "That's so sad. I feel bad for her."

Her mother crouched down. "We saw her on TV remember? Come on, lets go."

The mum walked off, but not before the little girl could look up and accidentally caught Cassie's eye. Cassie put a finger up to her lips as if to tell her 'keep it a secret' and the little girl nodded, giggled and ran off.

Sometimes Cassie really liked the museum.

Cassie was now sat in the passenger seat of Nick Fury's car as they drove home from work, he was dropping her off. Nick was telling her how he couldn't get into the SHIELD drives they downloaded on the mission a few days before.

"Activating communications encryption protocol." The car said.

"Open secure line 0405." Nick told it.

"Confirmed."

Maria's voice soon came through. "This is Hill?" She answered.

"I need you here in DC," Nick informed her. "Deep Shadow Conditions."

Maria hesitated. "Give me four hours." She said.

"You have three, over." Nick ordered before ending the call.

"So let me get this straight," Cassie asked again. "You couldn't get into the files because they were encrypted and sealed...by you?"

"Yes. I told Pierce to hold off Project Insight while I look into it. Something weird's going on lately." He mused.

Cassie snorted. "I could've told you that years ago."

They stopped at a red light as a police car stopped next to them on Cassie's side. She nudged Nick when she saw them looking into the car. "You wanna see my lease?" He asked sarcastically.

They looked at him blankly before blaring the sirens for a second and driving off. Cassie rolled her window up quickly after that. "That was weird." She thought out loud and he agreed silently.

Once the light turned green Nick moved forward until another police car rammed into them on Nick's side, completely crashing into them and putting Cassie in shock for a few moments. Both of their airbags were released quickly as the car from earlier reversed into them.

Two other cars suddenly came along from all angles as the car told Nick it detected a fracture. "What the hell?!" Cassie yelled as she felt her nose bleeding and fixed her broken hand.

"Recommend anaesthetic injection." The car said. Cassie saw Nick in pain so she rushed into the glove box in front of her and passed him the injection.

The vampire watched as a black SWAT van drove up and the police car on Nick's side moved away.

"DC metro police dispatch shows no units in this area."

A SWAT team from the van jumped out and all pointed their guns towards the car. Cassie looked at Nick. "What have you done now?" She asked jokingly but he just glared at her as if to say, 'not the time'.

The two looked around the car before looking at each other with determined faces. "Get us out of here!" They both yelled at the car.

Guns began shooting at the car, luckily it was bulletproof. "Propulsion systems offline."

"Then reboot dammit!" Nick yelled in frustration. The armour integrity of the car was decreasing quickly.

The SWAT team walked up to Nick's window with a machine that could smash it open after at least three hits. "Warning, window integrity compromised."

"You think?" Nick asked rhetorically. He looked at Cassie before getting an idea. "Get into the back." She moved to the back seats quickly as he moved to the passenger seat. "How long till propulsion?"

"Calculating," The window was hit so hard that the car almost fell on its side as it wobbled. "Window integrity 31%. Deploying countermeasures."

"Thank God." Cassie breathed. She knew she couldn't die but this was stressful.

"Hold that order!"

"What?!"

The car was hit again and it rocked them to the side. "Window integrity 19%, offensive measures advised."

"Wait!" Nick said one more times and Cassie clicked on.

The car was hit for a third time and Cassie was already getting a headache. "Window integrity 1%."

"Now!" Nick yelled. A small machine gun popped up from the front arm rest and Cassie looked in disbelief, she never realised that was there.

 It seemed Cassie was right about Nick's idea because as he fired the gun, the window broke almost instantly and caught the soldiers outside by surprise as they were killed or injured. Cassie found a grenade in her bag and threw it towards the van, causing it to blow and land on two of the pole cars.

"That's how it's done bitches." Cassie laughed.

"Propulsion systems now online."

"Full acceleration! Now!" and so the car sped off.

At the end of the car chase, which ended in them upside down, Cassie saw a figure walking towards them that she recognised. Before Nick pulled her down through the escape hole he had made, she realised. It was the man from her nightmares.

It was The Winter Soldier.
