A/N – I know the last chapter was uber-long so I'm eased things up a bit. I don't think this chapter is as long. I hope you enjoy the on-going love story between George and Annie. I love writing about them! Thanks for reading and enjoy! Lara 😊

There were 2 messages from Annie when George returned to his suite at the Peninsula. Before he called her back, he needed to shower and wash the last 2 days off him. What the hell was wrong with him? Reliving his wanton youth? Well, even 2 years ago, he could party for days and not feel a thing. Now, shit hurt all over and not only did he have an alcohol fueled hangover, he had a cigarette hangover as well. The thought of a cigarette made him retch. Nicotine overload.

George showered, ordered a bottle of scotch, aspirin, and a bowl of vegetable soup from room service. "Interesting combination," he thought to himself as he wrapped himself in one of the hotel's white terrycloth robes and dialed Annie's home number.

"Hello?" He heard Annie's sweet voice and the sounds of a party going on behind her.

"It's me, Annie," he said almost too softly for her to hear.

"George? Come over. You have my address. We've got a holiday party going on and there is tons of food and some very happy people. Please come over and be with us. Please."

"Thanks, Annie, but I'm really going to get some sleep. Eric and I were...working...the last few days and we hardly slept."

"Are you sure?" Annie asked him, sounding disappointed. "I promise you that you will laugh."

"I'm sure. But thank you for the invitation."

"You're welcome. Well, get some sleep. And George....,"

"Yes?

"Happy Christmas."

"Ta, Annie," he said gently.

"Ta, George," she answered.

The day after Christmas, Eve and Annie spent the morning eating Christmas cookies and drinking coffee.

"So what did George say yesterday?"

"That he and Eric were working night and day the last 2 days and he was exhausted. He was going to go to sleep."

Eve shook her head. "That's the worst excuse I've ever heard. No, I take that back. The worst excuse I ever heard was 'My grandma passed away'. That's the worst. Wishing your grandma would die so you can avoid another human being. Sick."

"Why don't you believe George?"

"Sweetie, they were partying and he was hungover. You can't tell me they had their heads over their guitars plucking out songs for 48 hours straight. Now partying for 48 hours straight makes more sense."

"Well, I'm glad he was able to celebrate Christmas then," Annie shrugged, eyeing Eve.

"Annie, how did you make it to 29?" Eve laughed, shaking her head.

"Why?"

"Cuz George was cutting a path through all the beautiful women in L.A. and introducing them to 'Little George'. God only knows how many women he slept with in 48 hours."

Annie suddenly began laughing. "How do you know it's 'little'?"

"We need you to come into the office and approve some photos for release," Baxter said to George, who had called him after Baxter contacted Annie. "I know you have to go to New York soon and we need these approved before you go."
