Hi and happy hump day! Thought I'd add a pic of Jeremy and Evelyn as we wind down their love story!  Some of you have intimated that Jeremy looks a lot like a young Tom Selleck....really? I don't see it!  :-)  Lots of things to settle between Annie and George...so that's coming up. I've discovered it's a real challenge working on 2 stories at once! I'm trying to rotate updates as I roll along! So on the horizon is an update to Breath Away From Heaven.  Enjoy, my dear sweet ones! Love, Lara xo

Eve quickly walked through the ballroom and past the podium where a door sat propped open. She was going to say 'yes'. Feeling light as a feather, she crossed the threshold and came face to face with Jeremy and a horde of women, circling around him like a panther stalking a wounded deer. They were all gazing at his handsomeness and did some pawing on his arms, one was so bold as to pretend to wipe something off his chest. She quickly turned her back to him, knowing he saw her, and began to walk back out of the door.

Not sure where to go or what to do, Eve stood there frozen until she heard her name called. Turning towards the sound, she spotted Diane and Ed, Michelle's parents walking towards her from the ballroom.

"Oh fuck," she grumbled to herself. She wanted to get to Jeremy. She wanted to throw her arms around him and just whisper "yes" in his ear, then kiss him madly. But her plans just went down the hopper.

"You're here, Evelyn," Diane said with her chilly voice.

"Where's Jeremy?" Ed asked.

"He's down the hallway talking to some friends," she smiled as best she could. Eve started shifting her weight from one foot then the other, anxious to get to Jeremy and tell him her decision. That group of women were petting him like a prized show dog and she wanted to claim him as hers. Jeremy was hers. He loved her and she loved him. She was going to marry him and have a pack of kids.

"Yeah, Michelle's death was devastating to all of us," Diane said, lighting a cigarette and blowing the smoke in Eve's direction. "Did Jeremy tell you they were trying for a baby when she first got ill? We could have had a grandchild by her and Jeremy but life had other plans."

"You wouldn't believe them together," Ed continued. "They finished each other's sentences, they were always attached at the hip. Where he went, she went. It was an honest to god love story."

"That's lovely," Eve forced a grin.

"I take it you're the independent type," Diane said, sizing Eve up. "I mean you're older and set in your ways, am I right? And traveling back and forth from California! My oh my! All by yourself."

"Look at Jeremy. All the women crowding around him. He denies every woman. I think he's still in love with Michelle. I think he always will be," Ed nodded seriously.

"You, if you stick around, have some mighty shoes to fill," Diane gave a little cough. "Michelle and Jeremy were perfect together. Just perfect. Such a beautiful couple and I'm not just saying that because Michelle was my daughter."
