Hi dear, lovely Beatlemaniacs! Here's an update on Annie and George. They sure need some good news, don't they? Thank you for taking the time to stop by...I know everyone is so busy with school and work! As always, I love, love, love your comments. You always give me something to think about. Enjoy! love, Lara xo
Something snapped in Annie's mind. As long as she held onto the dream of her and George, she was able to go on and fight for every day. Now Terry's voice deadened her to everything except her baby. She knew she had to pull it together at some point, but for now, she didn't want to see or talk to anyone because the first thing out of their mouths would be, "Oh, I bet George is happy!" Her response? "Oh, I hope so. He hasn't had time to stop by because he's fucking Terry."
The nurse tapped on the conference room door and peeked in to see Annie was off the phone. "Let's go back to your room. You need rest, fluids and antibiotics."
"Terrific," she answered emotionlessly.
"Also, it seems the entire police force is here to talk to you. Are you up to it?"
"No."
"You know, my name is Erica. I'm going to take care of you during the day. Margaret will be your night nurse."
"Fine."
"Um, Mrs. Harrison? Did things not go well on your phone call?"
"No."
"I'm sorry. Can I do anything?"
"No."
Erica helped Annie back into bed and got her IV's in and medicine started. A heart monitor was placed on Annie's middle and her little one's heart beat was strong and steady, sounding like a whoosh through the speaker. The doctor stopped in to tell her the ultrasound was perfect. The baby's head was down and he wouldn't be surprised if she didn't deliver in less than a week.
"Thank you," Annie told him, her voice cold. "When can I get discharged?"
"With your fluid low, we'll keep you until you deliver."
"Fine."
"Mrs. Harrison," the doctor began slowly. "Are you in any discomfort?"
"No."
"All right, then. I'll leave you to rest. I'll be back tomorrow. If you need anything, just ask Erica or Margaret."
"Thanks."
Annie turned on her side and shut off the lights. She cried herself to sleep.

George took Terry by the shoulders and rocked her back and forth. "What the fuck are you saying?"
"She called. Annie. She called while you were upstairs. Jesus. You're a maniac."
"Where is she? Is she okay? How can I get in touch with her?"
"I don't know. She said she was in hospital."
"Terry, WHAT FUCKING HOSPITAL???"
"I don't know," Terry wiggled out of his tense grasp. "Fuck. I didn't know what I could ask her. She told me to go fuck myself anyway."
"Is she going to call back?"
"I don't know."
"Ok. Let's start from the beginning," George said, talking slowly and calmly. "What exactly happened?"
"I picked up the phone and didn't even say 'hello' because she screamed 'George!'. I answered it when I realized you weren't and I figured it was important because it was so late."
