Hi dear Beatle people! Here's a bit of an update...it's kind of long, but I'm working on the ending so the next couple chapters will be a bit long! I am so behind with writing this! Been too busy watching playoff hockey and outlining my new story! I find it's easier to end a story when you already have another one planned! Have a wonderful Friday the 13th and happy weekend! Enjoy. Love, Lara xo
George dozed off and on for just over an hour when he felt Annie lay her hand on his arm. His first thought was maybe his luck was changing. Maybe she had forgiven him. Maybe she wanted him again.
"What, Annie-girl?" he whispered.
"You're not sleeping?"
"No. Someone tapped me on my arm."
"I didn't 'tap'."
"Oh. Sorry. Must have been someone else."
"Shut up George," she softly laughed.
"Made you laugh, beautiful girl," he leaned over and kissed her forehead.
"What, are we 12 again?"
"No. I never could have loved you at 12 like I do now."
"That's a comment from a snake oil salesman."
"If it works, I'm all for it."
Annie leaned up on her elbow. "What happened last night, George? Can you please tell me the truth?"
"I did Annie. I won't lie to you."
"Yes, but purposeful omission is the same as lying."
"What makes you think I'm not telling you something? I went on a mini-bender. I'm sorry, baby. I really am. At the club, I got pulled one way and then the other and I wasn't thinking. But at no time did I cheat on you, Annie. Not with Sam, not with anyone."
"What the hell does Sam want anyway?"
"She's a Beatlemaniac. You know the type. Banging a Beatle, even and ex-Beatle is her life's goal."
"Couldn't she pick on McCartney or Lennon for fuck's sake?"
"Well, she grew up knowing her sister Chris and I were friends....and I guess she just got fixated on it."
"George...did you ever sleep with Chris?"
George choked and coughed. "Oh, come on Annie. You want me to relate everyone I slept with? You are well aware it's a long list. I didn't hide anything from you when we got together. I told you there were times I was not a gentleman...or selective. I put that all away after I met you."
Annie looked him directly in the eye. "You didn't sleep with Sam, did you?"
"Fuck no, Annie. Shit. That's what you've been thinking?"
"Not exactly. But why won't she leave you alone?"
"I told you. Beatlemaniac. Some of them never give up," he said gently, his hand weaving through her hair. He internally thanked everything holy that he was even able to touch her. He knew his fuck up was of monumental proportions and this could have been a long, slow, torturous re-negotiation but it seemed she was ready to forgive him and move on. "Can you forgive me, Annie-girl? Can we just put it behind us?"
Annie nodded, her eyes focused downwards. "But you are to avoid Sam like she was carrying the plague. I don't want her near any of us. Is that a deal?"
"Yes," he answered immediately.
"And if we ever visit another club for the rest of our lives, we are to stick together so I don't have to talk to or dance with every dateless man within 100 miles. Better still, leave me the fuck home."
