Red String of Fate

The rest of the three days in the resort went by peacefully. Everyone was on the way back to school and it when all of you finally arrived at school Miss Katherine made an announcement.

"Okay, Everyone listen up!"she shouted and to people who were sleeping woke up and the ones who were chatting stopped.

"I have an announcement to make. We are holding an event in school themed 'Valentine's Day". I'm sure you all know what Valentine's day is. The school will prepare a lot of games and events on that day. So make sure to come with your friends tomorrow."Miss Katherine said before letting everyone exit the bus. It took you quite a long time to get back to the school hostel. It was already 9.00 p.m. when you reached your house.

"I am so worn out."you said as you stretched and let out a soft groan.

"Do you need me to help you get energized?"Xiao Kai suddenly asked cheekily as he wrapped his arms around your slim waist.

"N-no, thank you."you said as you blushed bright pink. You just couldn't get used to Xiao Kai hugging you from the back. You quickly ran into your room and dropped on your bed. Your sunk your face until you heard a knock on your door.

"Come in."you said while lifting your face up.

Wang Yuan opened the door with Qian Xi beside him,

"Where's Xiao Kai?"you asked looking at them.

"He's taking a bath."Qian Xi said while sitting next to you on your bed with Wang Yuan.

"Why? You wanna go take a peek?"Wang Yuan asked jokingly.

"What?!No!"You exclaimed before sinking your face into your pillow again.

"You have to tell him."Qian Xi said looking at you.

"Tell him what?"you asked and Wang Yuan immediately answered a bit too loudly.

"That you love him of course!"Wang Yuan said purposely making it loud so that Xiao Kai could hear him.

"Don't say it out loud."you said while blushing.

"Tell him or we will."Qian Xi said looking at you with your face still in your pillow.

"Fine. I'll tell him after I take a shower."you said as you pushed the two of them out of your room. You shut the door and took a quick shower. After you had a change of clothes, you took deep breathes before asking Wang Yuan where Xiao Kai was. He said he didn't know so you decided to go out and take a short walk.

As you were walking pass the park, you saw Xiao Kai and was going to approach him untill you saw what he was doing. He was with Xiao Ling. Xiao Ling saw you but she didn't say a thing, instead she just smirked. As you look at Xiao Kai he lifted Xiao Ling's chin up and kissed her cheek. Tears swelled up on the corner of your eyes and they ran down your face like a stream. You let out a soft weep and even though it was really soft, Xiao Kai heard it. He turned around and was shocked when he saw you with your hands over mouth and tears streaming down your face. You turned away and ran the opposite direction. As you ran as fast as you could, tears escaped from your eyes and you never knew how painful love could be. That was when you remembered the last time you cried for Xiao Kai. You stopped running and just wept in silence.

"Help me. "you said while suffering from the internal pain you were feeling. It felt like a thousand needles piercing through your heart.

"(y/n), I can explain."Xiao Kai said looking guilty behind you. You took a deep breathe before turning around and showed him your crying face. It hurt him when he saw you crying because of him but you didn't know.

"There's no need for you to explain anything Xiao Kai. I should've known. You were too good for me. Too good. "You said trying to stop the tears from flowing.
