Mason and the other two adults went back quietly and Xiao Kai immediately gave you another passionate hug.
"I don't want you to leave. Please stay. Stay with me."he whispered into your ear. You blushed as you could hear his breathes and his fast heart beat.
"I-I won't leave you I promise."you said as he pulled away and he reached his pinky out.
"I know I'm already a teenager and this is too childish for us but-" Xiao Kai said while looking away with a reddish face.
"No. It's fine. I promise."you interrupted with a warm smile and hooked your pinky on his.
Your pinky seemed so much smaller compared to his. You blushed and realized that Qian Xi and Wang Yuan were staring at the two of you.
"I don't think I will ever get used to this."said Wang Yuan.
"Feels like a Korean drama."added Qian Xi with his arms folded.
"L-let's go in and get some shut eyes. It's already late."you said that but you weren't asleep when probably everyone else in the hostel was.
The lights to your room was switched on and the hour hand on your clock struck twelve midnight. The trash can in your room was filled with crumpled paper. You were up that late trying to write a letter to yourself. You were afraid the one day. One day, if you forget about them, this letter will remind you about them. That letter consisted of all the mixed and jumbled up feelings they gave you. You finally finished it but you felt like it wasn't enough. You were very tired and was desperate for sleep but you couldn't. You may need the energy tomorrow but you didn't care. You slept at three that night and those three hours were spent on a song. A song about your time spent with them, about how much you have changed. You composed that song and went to sleep.
You woke up at six the next morning with heavy bags under your dark brown eyes but you still dragged yourself to the nearest recording studio that was open. You followed your song and sang to it with all your feelings poured in. You sang it only once because it wouldn't matter if it was off key. The first time always has most of the feelings in it.
"I hope that I wouldn't need this in the future but I can never be too safe."you said to yourself as you walked back home with a disc in your hand.
You opened the door and thought that everyone would still be asleep but one of them weren't. The person awake was Qian Xi. You were shocked because he was always the one who slept in.
"Where did you go? "asked Qian Xi in a serious voice while walking to you.
"N-no where."you said avoiding any eye contact.
"Don't try and lie to me. I can always tell if you're lying."said Qian Xi as he walked closer to you.
"I-I "you stammered but you still haven't replied him.
"What's that in your hands?" he shot you another question and you immediately tried to hide it behind your back.
"Nothing. "you said quickly while looking the other way.
"Do I have to repeat myself? "asked Qian Xi and he was now right infront of you and you nowhere else to go as he pinned you to the door.
"F-fine. It's a song but don't tell anyone else."you said quickly with a slightly red face.
"What and who is it for? "he sprung you another question and you knew you had no choice but to answer him with the truth.
"I want you to give it to me if I don't find it to me if I somehow managed to forget about the three of you. Please take care of it."you said passing him the disc and reached for the letter in your bag.
He took the two items from you and stared at it.
"Why would you need this?
Do you really need this?"he asked you more questions and you just answered them honestly without hesitating because you knew you could trust him."I don't but I still did it even if there is only one out of a million chances that I would forget."you answered while looking at the floor this time. He let out a loud sigh and you were in his arms in a second. You could feel the warmth of his body and his slow and steady heartbeat. You felt his warm breathe tickle your slim neck and you blushed.
"You might forget us because of the one chance but there is not a single chance in a million that any of us will forget about you."confessed Qian Xi before letting go of you.
"Thanks. "you said before going back into your room.
You fell into your warm bed and turned your left with a smile. You had your eyes closed but as you moved your legs a little, you felt someone else's leg. You immediately shot your eyes open and saw Xiao Kai sleeping soundly in your bed. Your face immediately turned as red as a tomato and wanted to jump out of bed but he pulled you in closer to him.
He was hugging your from behind and he placed his face on your back. His slim arms were around your waist once again but his grip was tighter than before. You realized that something was off so you turned your head to check on him. Your eyes widened with your cheeks still red when you saw the drops of tears at the corner of his eyes.
"Don't go. I-I don't want to lose you. I don't want to lose the love of my life and my everything."said Xiao Kai in a soft voice.
Even though it was soft, you could still hear him. You could still hear those sweet words come out of his mouth.
"It's okay. I will do everything I can to stay with you like I promised."you whispered back to him and turned around so that you were facing him. You leaned your head on his and turned bright red as you realized that he was awake with that adorable smirk on his.
"If you don't keep that promise, the length of our string of Faith will be longer than before."Xiao Kai said as he held your hands and tied the end of the red string you kept in your drawer around your right pinky.
"You took it from my drawer didn't you. "you said and squeezed his nose.
"Yeap."
You fell into deep sleep afterwards and time passed by extremely quickly. You were in bed sleeping peacefully with Xiao Kai and was in the student council meeting room with four other adults, before you even had time to take in another breath.
A long and dreadful debate occurred but neither side side changed the other's mind.
"That's enough. I don't want to argue with any one of you anymore. You are horrible people and you will never take me away from them."you shouted out to everyone as you stood up from your seat and banged your hands on the table. The red string Xiao Kai gave you was still around your pinky and it was connected to his as well.
You ran out of the room and Xiao Kai followed you. Everyone did but your were so fast that most of them couldn't keep up. Xiao Kai was behind you and you stopped when you crossed the road. He was by the sidewalk staring at you with horror in his eyes.
You didn't stop running because you wanted to. You stopped because you had to, because you didn't notice the flaring red truck that ran over you.
The last thing you saw was Xiao Kai's worried face and the red string on your pinky turning even darker, it was stained by the huge amount of blood that flowed from your seemingly lifeless body.
