"So far, everything's going well."

I said to the girls as we played with the sea water and its waves. We're quite faraway now from the shore but still, our feet can reach the ground.

"Yeah, plus, we're even enjoying this moment... This is the first time I went to the beach. This is also the first time I felt so free," Xanthal uttered as she moved her fingers, touching the crystal clear water.

"The ambiance of sea is soothing isn't?" I asked, smiling while looking at the cloudless blue sky. "It's so vast and cozy which makes us not feel suffocated of our lives. No matter how piled up your problems are, just always remember that we have the sea where we can all breathe it out."

"Right... breathe it out..."

"Is something wrong, Xanthal? You can reach it out to me. I will listen."

Her eyes stared at me but, her lips remained unmoved.

Magkapatid nga sila ni Xavier. Hindi sila vocal sa kanilang nararamdaman pero ang mga mata nila, hindi nagsisinungaling. Doon mo makikita ang tinatago nilang bigat at problema. Ito ang nagsasalita para sa kanila tuwing pinipili nilang manahimik.

"I don't have any," sagot niya kasabay ng pag-iwas ng tingin sa'kin. "The sea's just making me feel a bit melancholy even if I don't have the reason to feel so," she chuckled.

"Hmmm, I doubt that. Actually, I have an idea why you're feeling melancholy." I muttered which made her swiftly look back on me. "It's Lt. Lorius, right?"

Nanlaki ang mga mata niya kasabay ng paglunok. Tama nga ang hinala ko. Hindi ako nagkamali.

"D-Did Kiefer told y-you?"

"Huh?" my brows furrowed. "Why, did Kiefer know that you've been missing your husband?"

"Missing my husband?"

"Yes, aren't you sad because it's been a while since you saw Lt. Lorius again?"

Tila nawala ang pagkatensyon ng mukha niya kanina nang sabihin ko sa kan'ya ang aking hinala. Sigurado naman akong iyon ang dahilan niya pwera na lang kung may mas malalim pa talagang rason.

"Y-Yes, that's it..." she agreed.

"Oh, don't worry. Maybe Lieutenant's just gonna surprise you with a visit one day." I beamed at her. "Anyway, did you really talked about missing your husband to Kiefer? Well, based on what you said earlier, that's what it seems like." tanong ko kay Xanthal pero bago pa siya makasagot ay biglang umakbay sa'kin si Zain.

"Nako, iyak pala si Kiefer, eh. That hurts for sure!" she suddenly said while laughing.

Malamang kanina pa nakikinig 'to. Malakas pa naman pandinig ni Zain, chismosa eh.

"Imagine, the person you like talking to you about the husband she misses? Awts, pain, pighati." she laughed harder.

"Bruha ka talaga, Zain! Tinatawanan mo pa talaga 'yung kaibigan natin 'no?" I said though, actually, I'm also stifling a laugh.

"Aba syempre! Parang nakakabawi na rin ako sa pag-reject niya sa'kin nung high school! Serves him right! That's the punishment from not appreciating a Goddess beauty."

"Wait," Xanthal then spoke. "The person that Kiefer likes... is it me...?"

Bigla kaming natahimik parehas ni Zain sa pagtawa at saka nagkatinginan.

Okay, we messed up.

"Ah, right! I have something to tell to Celeste! I'll go to her now, bye. Ikaw na bahala, Zain!" I said, and immediately run away from there.
