The room was a whirlwind of activity, a mix of nerves and excitement that seemed to linger in the air. Scarlett moved about the space, her steps restless, her fingers intermittently clenching and unclenching in an unconscious rhythm. Allison, a steadfast presence amidst the flurry, offered a calming anchor. "Hey, it's going to be fine." her voice carried a soothing assurance, a reminder that the anxieties of the moment were temporary. "Now, get your butt on this chair so I can do your makeup."

Relenting, Scarlett took her friend's advice and settled into the chair, allowing Allison to work her magic. The transformation began, her features becoming a canvas for Allison's skilled hands. "Okay, I'm just nervous."

"I get it, but you don't have to be." Allison's gaze meeting Scarlett's in the reflection of the mirror. "I just can't believe my big brother is getting married. Greyson fuckin' Vargas is getting married. I just can't—" Her words tapered off into a mixture of disbelief and fond exasperation. Scarlett couldn't help but laugh at her best friend's animated expression. "Yeah, I can't believe it either." she admitted. "Thank you for helping me pick my dress." Scarlett's words held a touch of gratitude. "Yeah, sure." Allison responded, her tone casual. "I got some help from your mum too." she added.

With a sudden shift in focus, Scarlett addressed her friend with a request tinged with a touch of caution. "Hey, when doing my hair, I want it nice and simple, got it?" The request was because of Allison's tendency to get carried away in her enthusiasm. A playful eye-roll followed the request, Allison standing up straight and raising her hand with an exaggerated solemnity. "I solemnly swear that I will not go overboard whilst doing your hair." she pledged with a grin, a hint of humor in her eyes. Laughter bubbled between them.

As the mirth subsided, Allison's gaze turned serious, a depth of emotion evident in her expression. She knew the girl was still anxious so she decide to try and sooth her, knowing her brother's love for the girl. "Hey, girl, stop worrying. You are enough and worthy. Don't ever doubt yourself."

A smile of gratitude graced Scarlett's lips as Allison's supportive words settled over her.

A knock at the door interrupted their preparations, and with the opening of the door, Scarlett's mother entered the room. Her presence was a blend of encouragement and gentle nudging, her words laced with urgency. "C'mon, guys, pick up the pace."
