Zuko sighs as she leans back into his office chair, feeling the weight of the day's challenges. The relentless ticking of the grandfather clock fills the room, its rhythmic sound echoing in the silence. With each swing of its hand, Zuko's mind drifts to the countless decisions and responsibilities that rest upon his shoulders. As he gazes at the clock, he can't help but wonder if he has enough time to accomplish everything he desires. The sound and sight of the clock become both a source of comfort and a relentless reminder of the ticking seconds, urging him to stay focused.
"Your majesty," The servant's voice disrupts Zuko's thoughts. He nods at his servant to continue. "Your sister is here to see you."
"Why?" Zuko questions with a deep sigh. He massages his temples and shakes his head. "Is it for good reason or is she here to yell at me?
"Um..." A bead of sweat falls down the servant's forehead. "Both?"
"Oh just let me in!" A voice calls out. Azula bursts into the room, forcefully shoving the servant aside. She swiftly assesses the man's presence, casting an appraising gaze over him, before nonchalantly flicking her hand, commanding him to vacate the premises. "Brother."
"Sister." Zuko raises a brow.
"I overheard something very interesting today. Shall I tell you?" Azula casts her brother a sickeningly sweet smile.
The Firebird rolls his eyes. "Do I have a choice?"
"No," the black-haired girl glares at the man, her eyes filled with intensity. She paces around the room, tracing the contours of the furniture with her finger, deep in thought. "I've heard that my right to my title is being questioned once more."
"Azula-"
"Silence!" The girl turns around angrily, facing her brother once more. " I battled relentlessly for the privilege of occupying the throne. But then, in a single moment, my aspirations crumbled into ruins. I was mercilessly confined to a mental asylum by those who were meant to provide love and protection."
"Azula..."
"I'm not finished," The girl responds. "But during my captivity, I was able to think. I contemplated my deepest desires and discovered that the throne was not what truly mattered to me. What I yearned for, above all else, was love."
"Azula, I'm sorry I-"
"Do you not understand the definition of "silence"?" Azula rolls her eyes. "I shouldn't even be telling you this. Oh, this was pointless!"
"Azula," Zuko begins with remorse in his voice. "It was a mistake to take your title. I unjustly stole what rightfully belongs to you. You are Princess Azula of the Fire Nation, the esteemed second-born daughter of our former Firelord Ozai and Firelady Ursa. The fire-bending prodigy, the tactical mastermind. It is an immutable fact that no one has the power to strip you of that birthright."
"Then get it back," Azula commands firmly. "Restore my title to me. Do not let it be taken away again. Stand up and fight for what you unquestionably know is rightfully mine."
"You have to fight for it as well," The Firelord continues. "State your case. Tell everyone why you should get your title."
Azula scoffs, rolling her eyes. "Fine."
"Fine." Zuko smiles a sigh of relief.
Azula approaches the door and opens it, preparing to depart. With a stern tone, she issues a warning, "Don't mention this conversation to anyone."
Zuko lets out a weary sigh, sinking back into the comfort of his chair.
