Chapter 22

Kimmie's P.O.V

Days turned into weeks which turned into months and before I knew it, June was upon us. My stomach was largely round and at this point, I'm waddling everywhere.

I went back to Jackson and told him the same thing I told Felix and for once, he respected my wishes, so the passing time wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I hang out with the both of them... separately and at the same time. They're cordial for the most part, still taking small shots at each other.

Now that it was finally summer, both Felix and Jackson's respective groups had sometime to spare to come to America, for the highly anticipated gender reveal.

I had been preparing for this for months and I prayed it go off without a hitch, I just needed a win.

"Mom, is Grandma all set up in the park?" I asked as I waddled through the house.

"Yes baby," she responded. "Only thing you neee to worry about is showing up. Now stop walking around and go do your make up." She stood in my way, forcing me back up the stairs.

"Good Afternoon Family," I heard a voice call out. I ignore him, knowing that it could've only been one person who'd say that.

Jackson comes over multiple times a week to check up on me. It feels a little unnecessary since I do have Felix by my side everyday but I do appreciate it.

Both of the men in my life have been catering to their careers while in America. Jackson with his Team Wang stuff and Felix getting his audios together for The Strays upcoming album.

"Mama-nim, I'm going to go get my mates from the airport, do you want me to just meet you guys in Jersey?" Felix called out. I heard the rental car keys jingle in the hands of him, I'd assume. I left the door cracked as I applied my make up.

"Yes baby, you can just head straight there after picking them up from the airport. It'll be easier that way since you're getting them in Jersey anyway," she responded. I couldn't hear what was said next but I did hear the door close as someone walked up the stairs.

"You ready?" Jackson asked, pushing my door open further.

"Do I look ready?" I rolled.

"Testy," he smiled. "You must know that today we'll find out you're having my son."

"I can't wait for the smoke to be pink," I smirked. "That way both of you can eat your words about your 'son'." He pretended like I shot him in the heart with my words but couldn't help his own smile as he exited my room.

Time quickly passed and soon I was dressed for the gender reveal.

Me and my parents headed outside as Jackson brought the last of the party items to their car.

"Okay, you guys go straight to the park and we'll meet you there," my Dad said. We nodded and Jackson helped me into his car.

We decided that my gender reveal needed to be lowkey, but since this is my first child, I still wanted something big enough. So we agreed to do it in this park by my grandparents place in Newark, a place that would never be frequented by paparazzi. Where everyone would be free to be themselves.

The drive took like 40 minutes including traffic but we arrived at the park without too much delay. All I could see was the balloons as we pulled into the parking space. I could hear the DJ's music blasting as Jackson helped me out the car.

I had waddled over to the edge of the trees when I was bombarded with the screams of 7 grown men.
