***With a racing heart, Baekhyun continue to pace back and forth inside their bedroom in fear after Chanyeol called to inform him that he couldn't find Jun. He's worried and didn't know what to think of at the moment, but he prays that Chanyeol finds Jun. No wonder he has been feeling uneasy about the toddler.
Deep down Baekhyun is thinking if he should just go ahead and call the police and inform them about a missing boy, but...is Jun missing? Baekhyun is uncertain and Chanyeol is yet to call.
He's been trying to dial Chanyeol's number but the network seems to not be friendly at the moment, probably because the weather has already turned gray due to rain. Giving rise for his mind to be flooded with negative thoughts.
Baekhyun lets out an exhausted sigh, looking for a nearby place to sit which happens to be the couch.
Even when Hana came knocking to inform him that they had finished preparing lunch, Baekhyun answered but didn't go down to eat. He's still not used to having them around the house and he didn't think it's wise to start lamenting in front of Han-Neul and her daughter. Baekhyun would rather just stay inside their bedroom until Chanyeol returns.
He can't be eating when his family is unsafe and incomplete.
Lost in thought, a honk from Chanyeol's car ensues, breaking Baekhyun out from his worried thought. So he quickly dashes to the window to see if he's hallucinating or not. And the moment he sights Chanyeol's car driving through the gate and into the premises, a cheerful smile graces his lips and he runs for their bedroom door.
With careful steps not to trip on the stairs, Baekhyun makes his way to the ground floor and runs to the front door immediately. The moment he unlocks the door and steps outside, the cool breeze from the rain hits his face, making him shiver. Good thing he's wearing one of Chanyeol's sweatshirts, so he feels a bit warm inside.
Chanyeol's car comes to a stop by their portico, while Baekhyun, with a racing heart, stands by the side, patiently waiting to see Jun.
The moment Jun's tender voice calls out to Baekhyun, "Uncle bacon." warm tears well up in his eyes. Baekhyun not minding if he got drenched by the rain or not runs towards the back seat of the car and pulls the door open. Before Chanyeol could even alight from the driver's side of the car, Baekhyun had carried Jun and is now walking towards their front door, with Chanyeol following them from behind with Jun's lunch box and school bag.
Baekhyun rains soft kisses all over Jun's face, causing the toddler to giggle. "I've missed you, my darling, you scared daddy and me?"
"I'm sorry Uncle Bacon. It's-its one auntie that bought me chips and-"
"Which auntie is he talking about, babe?" Baekhyun asks Chanyeol sharply. But the heavy sigh that left Chanyeol's lungs made it even more suspicious and alarming. "I didn't even see the person, babe. But this person took him far away from other children, down to the playground only to feed him with chips."
"You are joking right?" Baekhyun's eyes widen, dismayed by the possibility of Jun being drugged. What if Chanyeol didn't get there in time, who knows what would have happened. "And the school authorities didn't notice he was missing amongst other kids?"
"I wish." Chanyeol shrugs, tired with most school systems nowadays. They are mostly only interested in the number of tuition fees parents pay for their kids than the safety of the kids in question. What really could have happened if he didn't insist on searching every nook and cranny of the school for his son?
