Chanyeol sat across from Jackson in the dimly lit office of the lawyer's firm, his fingers drumming on the table. The tension in the air was thick, as the weight of the legal battle began to settle on his shoulders.

"We need to start by establishing your legal paternity over Jun," Jackson began, glancing at the legal papers in front of him. "Yifan may have biological ties, but you've been Jun's father in every way that matters."

Chanyeol clenched his jaw, nodding. "I've raised him from birth. I've been his dad—his only dad—for five years plus. What does Yifan have on me? A piece of paper with DNA?"

Jackson leaned forward, his expression serious. "In the eyes of the court, biological paternity has weight, but it's not the only thing that matters. We need to show that you have acted as Jun's legal parent since birth. Has his birth certificate been registered under your name?"

Chanyeol nodded. "Yes, I'm listed as his father."

"Good," Jackson replied, scribbling notes. "That's our first line of defense. You're Jun's legal father, and we'll argue that removing him from the only family he's ever known would cause irreparable harm to his emotional well-being. The courts favor stability for the child."

Chanyeol's eyes softened, thinking of Jun's bright smile and how he would always run into his arms after a long day. "He calls me 'Daddy,' Jackson. I'm not letting anyone take that away from me."
....

"The next step is to prove that you've been providing both emotional and financial support for Jun all his life," Jackson continued. "We need to document everything—every school payment, medical bill, and time spent with him."

Chanyeol's voice grew firm. "I've always supported him. My family and I have raised him together. He's never wanted for anything."

"That's good," Jackson replied. "We'll need testimony from teachers, doctors, and even neighbors who can attest to your role in Jun's life. The court needs to see that taking Jun away from you would cause significant emotional trauma."

Chanyeol swallowed hard, the thought of losing Jun hitting him like a sledgehammer. "We'll gather everything."

As they continued discussing strategy, Jackson raised a point Chanyeol hadn't fully considered. "Baekhyun your boyfriend is also a key part of this. He's been looking after Jun for a while, right? The court will consider his relationship with Jun as well."

Chanyeol paused, thinking of Baekhyun's gentle care for Jun, the way Jun would always look for him when he got scared or when he needed comfort. "Baekhyun loves Jun like his own. He's the best guardian Jun could ask for."

Jackson nodded. "Then we'll need Baekhyun's testimony, showing that you've been co-parenting Jun together. His statement can help us argue that you provide a more stable environment than Yifan ever could."

"We can also use Yifan's absence against him," Jackson added. "Yifan has been out of the picture for Jun's entire life. You need to emphasize that in court. Jun doesn't even know him as his father."

Chanyeol's brows furrowed. "Yifan never cared about Jun aside being his doctor. He didn't want him, and now he just shows up and wants to take him away?"

"Exactly," Jackson said. "The court will consider that. His sudden interest in Jun raises questions about his motives. We'll argue that Yifan's absence shows a lack of responsibility and emotional attachment to the child."
