As Chanyeol dried his hair, the rhythmic sound of the blow dryer filled the room, creating a tense atmosphere. Baekhyun hesitated, unsure of how to broach the topic weighing heavily on his mind. He watched Chanyeol's reflection in the mirror, his expression a mixture of sadness and disbelief.

When Chanyeol's phone rang, Baekhyun's heart skipped a beat, his thoughts racing. He hoped it was a trivial call, something to distract them from the turmoil of the day. But seeing Chanyeol's mother's name on the display only added to the weight of the situation. Baekhyun's hesitation grew as he debated whether to bring up what happened at the mall.

"Your mom's calling," Baekhyun said softly, hoping Chanyeol would welcome the distraction.

Chanyeol's reaction was unexpected. He ignored the call, his jaw clenched, his grip tightening on the blow dryer. Baekhyun's concern deepened at the sight of Chanyeol's obvious distress.

"Wouldn't you... uh, answer that?" Baekhyun ventured, his voice barely above a whisper.

Chanyeol shook his head, his gaze fixed on his reflection. "She lied to me, baby. She knew about Jun, about everything," he confessed, his voice thick with emotion.

Baekhyun's heart ached for Chanyeol as he processed the revelation. He remained silent, unsure of what to say or do at that moment. "I understand..." Baekhyun's words hung in the air, a gentle plea for understanding and reconciliation. He watched as Chanyeol's expression softened, a flicker of uncertainty crossing his features.

"Maybe she had her reasons, babe," Baekhyun offered, his voice gentle yet hopeful. "She might want to explain herself, or... maybe it's about your father's health."

Chanyeol's gaze met Baekhyun's, the intensity of his stare reflecting the turmoil within. For a moment, they were silent, the weight of unspoken emotions heavy between them.

Finally, Chanyeol spoke, his voice tinged with resignation. "If my father is truly ill, she can send a text if I'm not answering the phone or call my sister," he stated firmly, his resolve unwavering.

Baekhyun nodded in understanding, even though he disagreed with Chanyeol's statement, but respecting Chanyeol's decision even as his heart ached for the strained relationship between Chanyeol and his mother is important. At that moment, all they could do was hold onto each other, finding solace in their shared love and support.

Chanyeol's mind churned with a mix of emotions as he lay in bed, the events of the day replaying in his mind like a broken record. The thought of Hyeji sleeping with Yifan made him so angry. Anger, confusion, and betrayal waged war within him, fueling his determination to seek out Wu Yifan and demand answers.

As Baekhyun slept peacefully beside him, Chanyeol quietly slipped out of bed, his mind consumed by the need to find and confront Wu Yifan and unravel the tangled web of lies. With a sense of urgency propelling him forward, Chanyeol retrieved his phone and dialed Kyungsoo's number, knowing that Kyungsoo was dating Yifan and might have information on his whereabouts.

Kyungsoo answered after a few rings, his voice betraying his surprise at the late-hour call. "Chanyeol? Is everything okay?" he asked, concern lacing his tone.

Without a preamble, Chanyeol cut to the chase, asking about Yifan's current location. Kyungsoo hesitated for a moment before reluctantly admitting that he was with Yifan at their usual spot by the Han River.

Thanking Kyungsoo quickly, Chanyeol ended the call and grabbed his keys, his heart pounding with a mix of apprehension and resolve. With the address in hand, he headed out into the night, the engine of his car roaring to life as he navigated the streets of Seoul toward his destination.
