As Chanyeol drove to Hwasa's apartment, his heart pounded with a mixture of anxiety and determination. He knew he was racing against time to find Hyeji, the elusive mother of his child. Hwasa had explained that Hyeji was staying with her, having nowhere else to go.

It took him longer than expected to locate Hwasa's house. But when he finally arrived, he was struck by the modern and decent appearance of the house, fitting for a female.

Hwasa's car was parked near the entrance, and Chanyeol pulled his car alongside it. His hands trembled slightly as he cut the engine. He felt a surge of uncertainty, wondering if he was at the right place at the right time.

Walking up to the portico, he hesitated before pressing the doorbell. The seconds ticked by, and he couldn't help but feel the weight of the situation. He knew that he was about to confront the mother of his child, a woman who had been absent from their lives.

The door finally swung open, revealing Hwasa. Chanyeol was let in, and as he entered, the house reeked of alcohol. The pervasive scent was a stark reminder of Hyeji's struggles with addiction.

Chanyeol's face twisted with a mixture of disappointment and disgust as he realized the extent of Hyeji's condition. The woman who had once been the mother of his child was now a mere shadow of herself, drowning in alcohol.

Hwasa led Chanyeol to Hyeji's bedroom. As the door creaked open, he was hit by a strong cigarette smell, causing him to cough. The room was a disarray of empty bottles and cigarette butts, a reflection of Hyeji's chaotic life.

And then, as Chanyeol stood there, he saw the shock wash over Hyeji's face. She had been too inebriated to heed Hwasa's warnings of his arrival. Hyeji's voice stuttered as she whispered his name, "Ch-Chanyeol," a flicker of recognition in her eyes.

She quickly extinguished her cigarette, but the room still held the lingering scent of smoke. The encounter was fraught with tension and emotions, and Chanyeol couldn't help but feel a whirlwind of emotions as he confronted the woman who had once been part of his life, now a stranger drowning in her vices.

Chanyeol, filled with a mix of apprehension and resolve, urged Hyeji to come outside so they could talk. She emerged from her disheveled bedroom, her appearance disheartening. The sight of her, pale and frail, tugged at Chanyeol's heartstrings, almost bringing tears to his eyes.

As he watched, Hyeji struggled to pull on a massive jacket over her small frame. The oversized garment seemed to symbolize the overwhelming challenges that had consumed her life.

Once Hyeji was ready, Chanyeol held the door open for her, a gesture of chivalry that he extended despite the complex history between them. As she passed through the doorway, Chanyeol couldn't help but notice the tears threatening to spill from her eyes.

Silence enveloped them as Chanyeol led Hyeji to his car. He opened the passenger door, inviting her to take a seat. She moved with a surprising level of submission, her vulnerability laid bare.

Once they were both seated in the car, an apology escaped Hyeji's lips, her voice tremulous. "Chanyeol, I'm so sorry..."

Chanyeol listened calmly, his gaze fixed on her. He knew that this was a moment for them to confront their past and present, a moment of reckoning. His presence, while bearing the weight of the years of separation and pain, also held a glimmer of hope for a resolution so they could finally find peace and move on.

In the privacy of the car, while Hyeji spoke of her regrets and past actions, Chanyeol discreetly wiped a tear from the corner of his eye, hoping that she wouldn't notice the raw emotion he was feeling.
