A week had passed since the confrontation between Chanyeol's mother and Baekhyun, and the mansion felt quieter—like the calm after a storm. Jun had finally returned from the hospital, still a little weak but healing well. The atmosphere had lifted slightly as Chanyeol brought him back home, relieved to have his son around again. Baekhyun had spent the last few days by Jun's side, ensuring he was comfortable.

Chanyeol left for work that morning, his mind clearer but still juggling the weight of everything. As the day rolled on, Baekhyun settled into his usual routine, looking after Jun and checking in with Auntie Ha-Neul. The peace didn't last long.

A loud knock reverberated through the mansion. Baekhyun's heart sank when he recognized the impatient tone of the knocks. Mama Park.

Auntie Ha-Neul, who was closer to the door, hesitated before answering. Mama Park stormed inside, her eyes fiery as she swept past Ha-Neul without a word.

"Where is he?" she demanded, her voice sharp. She didn't wait for an answer before striding through the house and finding Baekhyun in the living room.

"You," she pointed at Baekhyun, "Did you sign the contract yet? I need to know now."

Baekhyun's face tensed as he stood up, his chest tightening. He had known this confrontation was coming, but it didn't make it any easier.

"No, I didn't sign those papers. And I'm not going to," he said firmly, his voice rising with emotion.

Mama Park's eyes widened in disbelief. "What did you just say?" she barked, stepping closer.

"I said I'm not signing those documents," Baekhyun repeated, louder this time. His hands clenched into fists, but his voice didn't waver. "I won't sign away my child like they're some kind of transaction. I'm staying with them."

Mama Park glared at him, her face hardening. "You are not part of this family. Do you think you can just waltz in here, have the babies, and stay? You're nothing more than a—"

"That's okay ma'am!" Baekhyun interrupted, his eyes flashing with determination. "I don't care what you think of me. But I'm not going anywhere. I'm staying, and I will raise my child."

The atmosphere in the room thickened with tension, and Baekhyun stood his ground, bracing himself against Mama Park's fiery glare. Without warning, her hand flew through the air and landed hard on Baekhyun's cheek with a sharp slap that echoed throughout the room.

Auntie Ha-Neul gasped, her hand flying to her mouth in shock. She had seen confrontations before, but she had never imagined Mama Park would strike Baekhyun. Her eyes widened as she stood frozen, unsure of how to react.

"You think you can just walk into our lives and pull a stunt like that?" Mama Park seethed, her face contorted with anger. "You think by going to my husband, you can gain his favor and turn him against me? Do you think the chairman will fall for your pathetic, deceitful act? Well, let me tell you something, Byun Baekhyun. You may deceive my husband, you may even deceive Chanyeol, but you will never deceive me. I will not stand by and watch you ruin my son's reputation!"

Baekhyun, still reeling from the sting of the slap, blinked back the tears welling in his eyes. His hand instinctively touched his cheek, but he held his head high, refusing to back down.

"I'm not deceiving anyone," he said, his voice shaking but resolute. "I don't care what you think of me. I'm not here to ruin Chanyeol or his reputation. I love him. And I'm not signing those papers, not now, not ever."
