The lectures concluded unexpectedly early due to their psychology teacher falling ill. Consequently, Baekhyun and his closest friend decided to leave school and have a meal at a restaurant. Jongin had successfully persuaded Baekhyun to accompany him to the eatery.
The day sped by quickly, but it didn't alter the fact that both of them had been on each other's minds throughout. Meanwhile, Chanyeol was at his work studio, unable to shake off his thoughts about the younger man. He vividly recalled the fear in those captivating eyes he had encountered earlier in the day, sensing that the young man was troubled. He couldn't help but wonder what could have prompted a young boy to run off with such urgency in the early morning. Chanyeol secretly wished to run into him again, contemplating a return visit to that area, in the hope of a serendipitous encounter.
On the other hand, Baekhyun had been daydreaming about the same mysterious man. He yearned to discover the stranger's identity; if he knew his name, he could perhaps explore the stranger's social media profiles and learn more about him. However, life wasn't always straightforward, and Baekhyun pondered the possibility that the man might be married. He seemed mature enough to be in a committed relationship. The notion of the stranger being married brought a sigh of resignation from Baekhyun. Yet, a realization struck him: "But I'm not gay," he muttered softly to himself. "Why would I even want to see him again?"
"Shut up, Baekhyun. You're gay!" Jongin interjected from across the table. "You just haven't realized it." Rolling his eyes, Jongin expressed his frustration while stabbing his steak in contemplation.
"But, Jongin, why haven't I felt this way about any other man? Why haven't I yearned for someone as I do for this stranger?" Baekhyun queried, hoping to gain insight into why he craved physical intimacy from that man so desperately.
Jongin shrugged. "Honestly, I wouldn't know. Maybe it's just a fleeting attraction, but let's see how it plays out. Besides, the odds of you two bumping into each other again are slim. As you said, you've never seen him in that area before. So..."
Baekhyun sighed, and the two friends dropped the topic, returning their focus to their meals. They remained oblivious to another customer who entered the restaurant, a tall, handsome man with a strong physique. He approached the counter to place his order and then selected a free table to await his food.
"Hyung trust me, all you need is a nanny to take care of Jun until you return from work," the man spoke on the phone, capturing Baekhyun's attention.
"The problem is, you don't even want to consider it. Let me find a nanny for you. I can ask my cousin to arrange it, maybe for tomorrow?"
"Why is he hiring a nanny while he's here?" Baekhyun wondered, his curiosity piqued. If he could manage to look after Mongie, his dog, surely he could handle taking care of a baby.
"I'm certain, Hyung, trust me," the man continued. "Okay, I'll bring the nanny to your place first thing tomorrow. Let me make a call or two. Say hi to Jun and goodbye."
A few minutes later, the man's order arrived, and he settled the bill before leaving the restaurant.
Baekhyun's feet seemed to move on their own as he chased after the man. "Excuse me, Sir!"
The man turned and noticed a petite boy running toward him, panting as he approached. "Excuse me, Sir!" the boy called out. By the time he caught up with the man, he was already short of breath.
