Monday arrived quickly, and Baekhyun was excited to resume work in full swing. His lectures concluded at 11 o'clock that morning, leaving him with ample time before his visit to Chanyeol's place at 3:00 pm to care for his son.

After leaving the school campus, Baekhyun and Jongin decided to visit a karaoke bar, knowing Baekhyun's passion for singing. They sang their hearts out until their voices were nearly exhausted. Following this musical session, Jongin accompanied Baekhyun to a shopping mall, where he purchased a few tops for himself, each priced at $5. Baekhyun managed to buy four tops for himself and a $5 pair of sandals. He also picked up an affordable body spray for $5. The entire amount spent on his shopping spree was $30. Jongin sensed that Baekhyun's budget was tight, and despite Baekhyun's resistance, he insisted on helping.

One of the qualities Baekhyun cherished in his best friend, Jongin, was his kindness and outgoing nature. Jongin's fun-loving attitude helped Baekhyun stay happy and distracted from his worries.

Jongin had been a steadfast source of support for Baekhyun since he left the orphanage. Although Jongin came from a family with parents and two older sisters, he never flaunted his privilege over Baekhyun. Instead, he introduced Baekhyun to his family, making him feel like part of their own. The Kims treated Baekhyun as a member of their family, never letting him feel like an outsider.

Baekhyun hoped that one day he could repay the kindness he had received from the Kims. He was profoundly grateful for the warmth and acceptance extended to him by his friend and his friend's family.

He left for his house around 1:30 pm to prepare for his nanny job. Upon arriving home, his first order of business was taking a shower to look and smell fresh. (For Chanyeol, he thought.) Afterward, he ensured Mongie had enough food and water; he didn't want to return to find his innocent puppy exhausted, as she was on Saturday.

By the time he finished his preparations, it was already 2:00 pm, giving him just an hour to reach his new workplace. Baekhyun took a taxi that transported him to the residential area where his job was situated. In this area, cabs were the primary mode of transportation unless you owned a car, which Baekhyun did not. He had a choice between stopping at the bus station and walking or hailing a cab.

Baekhyun decided to take a cab because it was affordable, costing only $1.50, and he was conscious of time, with only 10 minutes to spare.

The cab took him to Chanyeol's house, where Baekhyun quickly disembarked and paid the driver before proceeding to the imposing gate standing before him. Baekhyun drew a deep breath and exhaled, then rang the bell.

The electronic gate rolled open, allowing Baekhyun to enter. He noticed Chanyeol's Range Rover parked outside the house in the portico, and it bolstered his confidence. He knew he looked smarter today than he did on Saturday and hoped Chanyeol would appreciate it.

"Come on, Baekhyun. You've got this. Take the job, own it," he silently encouraged himself as he took another deep breath, pressing the doorbell and anxiously awaiting a response.

As footsteps approached the door, Baekhyun's heart began to race. This wasn't his first visit to the house, nor was it his first time meeting Chanyeol. Nevertheless, he couldn't help feeling somewhat nervous. "Calm down, heart," he muttered to himself.

The door swung open, revealing a man who wasn't Chanyeol. This man had large, round eyes and a heart-shaped mouth. Although he was handsome, he was slightly shorter than Baekhyun. Baekhyun blinked momentarily but swiftly regained his composure, offering a polite bow in greeting.
