Hailey smiles as she looks down at her phone before she went to wake Lucie up
Jay- 'morning, I shall c u later beautiful, missing u already'
Hailey- 'miss u 2,gotta wake sleeping beauty now though, c u in a bit xoxo'
Her and Jay were taking things slow which was good, but they couldn't deny there feelings, and they felt like they were right for each other, Jay was super kind, not just to her but to Lucie too
"Wakey wakey pumpkin, time to get up" Hailey says as she gives the little girl a little shake, Lucie groans and moans back "me don't want to go mommy", Hailey then looks at the girl confused and asks "why sweetheart? , what's wrong?". The little girl sobs back "me don't feel good mommy".
Just like that, Hailey turns the girl over slightly and places her hand on Luciana's head that was boiling hot, "Sweetie your burning up" the mom says in a worrying tone of voice, she goes out the room for a moment and then comes back in with a wet cloth and places it on the girls head. Hailey then reasurres the girl "don't worry, your okay baby girl".
Hailey gets the girl dressed into something warmer and then feeds her some soup to try and pick her up a little, Hailey then kisses Lucie on the forehead and reasurres her "don't worry, mommy will call in sick at work, and I can stay with you then". Unexpectedly the young girl then sobs back "no, mommy need too, me be ok".
Hailey then sighs and replies back "sweetheart, I also need to look after you, your my number one priority remember, you come first, not my job", the young girl whimpers back "me go with mommy, mommy still work then". Hailey sighs and replies back with a question "what's so important about me going to work, your more important".
The young girl then sobs back "mommy catch bad people, mommy make world safe", Hailey smiles a little and then replies back "they can live without me for one day", Lucie sobs back with a whimper "no, mommy go work, me okay". Hailey smiles and kisses the girls forehead and says warmly "alright well, I'll take you with me, but as soon as you show sighs of needing to leave then we are gone, understand?", the little girl nods back.
Hailey straps the girl into the booster seat and hands her the fluffy unicorn and a pink fleece blanket, Hailey then starts the engine and drives back to District 21 and heads upstairs to the intelligence unit with a poorly Luciana in her arms. When she gets up there, everyone greets them, Jay is the first to ask "hey what's wrong with Lucie?"
Hailey sighs and answers "she isn't well, she's burning up, but she refuses to let me stay with her, she's so stubborn", Jay chuckles a little and then jokes "I wonder where she got that from", Ruzek laughed at the remark. Kim smiles and says reassuringly to Hailey "don't worry, we will all keep an eye on her Hails, she will be fine".
Burgess had stayed back at the district to keep an eye on Luciana when everyone rushed off to the scene of a suspected homacide, the young girl suddenly starts to cry and starts to run off towards the bin, then the girl just starting gagging as her stomach continued to turn on the inside. Kim rubs Lucies back and comforts her "its alright Lou Lou, I'm here, just let it out, let it all out".
After about a good five minutes of throwing up, the girl finally stops and then turns to look at Kim who had helped her throughout the ordeal, she then sobs "me cuddle" as she does grabby hands. Burges smiles and nods her head as she let's the small sick girl cling onto her and fall asleep with her head rested on the crook of Kim's.
"Everything OK while I was gone" they are later interrupted by Hailey, Kim shakes her head and answers "she has been sick hails, and cried a river doing so also", Hailey sighed and replied to her work friend "alright ill go speak to Sarge and ill be back out to take her home". Kim stops her though and asks rather trying to help Hailey by taking some of the stress of her "why don't I take her back to mine?".
"I couldn't ask you to do that Kim, thank you though" Hailey answers back with a smile, Kim smiles back and replies back "you ain't asking, I'm offering". Hailey then thinks for a moment before she finally answers "well if you insist, that would be amazing, illl pick her up after work then?", Burgess nods her head back and says "yes, just call me when your finished, she will be fine".
Hailey gives the girl a small kiss on the forehead as Lucie was already fast asleep in Kim's arms and so she didn't want to wake her. Kim then walks out the room and heads downstairs and straight for her car as she carries the sleeping girl, on the way Lucie wakes up a little due to all the noise downstairs off officers complaining to Trudy.
When in the car Burges jokes around a little to try and get the girl to perk up, fortunately for her it works and Lucie replies back in a giggle "you crazy" the woman then jokes something back about being crazy which makes the girl laugh a bit more despite feeling under the weather still "love you Auntie Kim" the girl says. Kim replies back with them 3 sweet words "love you too".
When they arrive Kim carries Lucie into her room and lays her in the bed and gets her tucked in under the covers and she then kises her forehead and leaves the girl to her well deserved beauty sleep. It didn't take long before Luciana found herself falling into a deep sleep, when she did awake she found herself back in her bed and with all her stuffed plush bears and stuff.
The girl also felt so much better, more perkier, had her appetite back and joked around. Hailey couldn't be more happier than to see her little girl back to her normal self, she hated seeing her sad or unwell. She just wanted to shield the girl from it all but she knew deep down it was the only way Lucie would learn, she couldn't be wrapped in cotton wool all the time. She had to experience things and possibly learn the hard way.
What Hailey did know though, is that she would be there no matter what, Luciana was her baby girl and nothing could ever change that.
