Chapter 15 (Trapped Part Two)

Chicago fire crossover

Hailey was sat at her desk chatting with Jay when Hank suddenly came out of his office and said her name with concern in his voice is "Hailey", she looked up at him and replied back with "yea". He then looked down for a moment and then back up at her as he says "I just had a call, there is a fire going on at the school".

Hailey jumped up out of her seat and replies back in concern and worry "what? But Lucie", Hank nods his head and replies "I know, which is why we need to go too 51 right now, Chief Boden can give us all the info we need before we go down". Hailey, Jay and Hank walk out and head over to firehouse 51.

A group of the adults start talking in Bodens office, more firefighters fled to the scene and so does loads of ambos. Hailey is quiet the whole way there, so it's a very silent ride to the school, Jay understood why though, he was worried himself, he looked at Lucie like she was his own daughter. He pulls up to the scene, where Hailey gets out the car instantly and goes to run into the school but is held back by Joe cruze.

"Hailey stay back, i know its hard but they got this, they know what there doing, your not trained to jump into fires, besides, what happens if she is already out, and safe" Jay says trying to stop her from running in as Joe holds her back. She starts to cry but nods her head, she then sobs back "I'm gonna go and check with the paramedics". Jay nods his head back.

Meanwhile

Lucie gets quite far down to the bottom of the stairs but suddenly she stops in her tracks as she looks in front of her to see nothing but thick smoke and heavy flames,she panicks and cries some more as she looks around her trying to see another way out. That's when she notices a window that she possibly could reach.

She gets on her tip toes which hurts because of her right leg, but she can just abouts put her hand on the window, so she decides to start knocking and waving, hoping someone would see. After a while of doing that, she realises nobody can see, she looks around her some more and sees that there is no way out. She starts coughing alot more.

Her vision starts to blur and she feels herself getting dizzy as she continues to cough, she then suddenly callapses onto the ground, no energy and slowly starting to go unconscious. The girl cries and coughs and just pictures her mom in her head, she thinks about being in her mom's arms, but she then realises that it ain't going to happen, she is going to die, just like Alex.

Out of nowhere though she hears a voice "fire department, call out", she doesn't quite catch it until the second call out is made, that's when she realised who the voice belonged too. The young injured girl then coughs out "help me", she wasn't sure if she was heard but she couldn't call out much louder, she was losing her voice.

But then suddenly she feels a hand touch her arm, she turns her head and with her blurred vision she could just abouts make out, that it was a firefighter, she was being saved, maybe she would see her mom after all. "Hey, it's alright, your safe now, I'm gonna get you out of here" she hears the firefighter say, then before she knows it, she is being carried.

Meanwhile outside

Hailey had gone around asking about Lucie but after being told 'no' so many times she started to think the worse, she cried her eyes out, Jay tried to comfort her but she just cried into his shoulder "I'm gonna lose her Jay, I'm gonna lose my baby girl" she sobs. Jay shakes his head and tries to reasuree her "I'm sure she is fine, don't think like that, you got this Hails".

Suddenly Kelly Severide came running out carrying a young girl who was barely conscious, he then calls out to Jay and Hailey "hey, you two, is this the girl you were on about? , matches the description you gave us". Hailey then looks up in shock but then so much worry as she notices the girl in Kelly's arms, she runs up to him and then cries out as she nods "oh my god, Lucie, baby, can you here me".

Kelly runs over to an Ambo, where Gabby and Sylvie were, "m, m, mom" the girl stutters "I'm here baby, I'm here" Hailey says back as tears continue to leak from her eyes. Gabby and Sylvie get cracking on and try to help get the girls breathing to normal, she had inhaled alot of smoke, causing some inflammation on the inside.

4 hours later

Hailey was sat in the room beside the hospital bed next to her daughter, who had a tube in her mouth and was unconscious, she had a few cuts and bruises and a sprained ankle. Hailey kissed Lucies forehead and said softly "your alright sweetheart, your safe now, mommy's got you". Slowly the fragile girl starts to wake up and looks at her mom.

Hailey heads the movement and then gasps in a happy type of shocked "Lucie, oh god, Your awake, my baby, your scared me so much", the young girl then starts to choke on the tube and struggles a bit, Then doctor Manning comes running in to take the tube out as she says "it's okay, let's get this tube out now, since your awake".

Once the tube is out the doctor then asks "how are you feeling Lucie?", the young girl stutters back as everything starts to come flooding back to her "he's dead". Natalie Manning looks back at her confused and asks "who's dead sweetie?", Lucie just starts to cry her eyes out as she sobs "Alex, he saved me, and now he's dead".
