Chapter 28 (3 Years Later)

Lucie was on her way to school, but she couldn't stop thinking about Hayden, he hadn't got back to her since Friday, it was now Monday and she still hadnt had a text of him. She tried not to worry but she just couldn't help it, when she finally got to the school she was greeted by Brooke, her and Hunter had broken up a month ago and she had already found someone else. Lucie felt really lucky to have Hayden still, they had been together for 3 years, I mean that's goals right there. That's what she thought anyway.

When the two were walking to class, what the girls saw was something Lucie never wished she had, something she never wanted to see, Hayden and Becky, full on snogging "oh my god" Lucie said in shock and so much more emotions. Hayden turned round and went to say something but was interrupted by Becky and her gob "that's right loser, he loves me, not you, who do you think he's been with all weekend" she smirks. Luciana just looks at her and feels like she is abouts to cry.

"That's it, cry, cry like a baby and run to mommy, because no one loves you" Becky says rudely as she wears a smirk, Lucie looks at Hayden and questions "is it true?", Hayden then smiles smugly and answers "yes it's true, I got bored of you, alright, so I started seeing Becky and well this weekend, things took a unexpected turn, but a good one, we are a perfect match, and you, well your just you, and I don't want that, Beckys perfect, she's special, she's all of that, but your not, your nothing compared to her, your the one that's never going to be chosen, the one who will never add to anything in life, you will always be a worthless piece of trash".

Just like that, Lucie breaks down into tears, too her, her whole world came crashing down right there and then Becky laughed "awww does the baby need a paci", Hayden laughed at her remark and then kissed her, before the two walk off, leaving a very upset and tearful Lucie, but she gets up and runs after him "you can't just do that Hayden, 3 Years, 3 years we were together" she says as she grabs his hand. He looks at her in a smug expression and pins her to the wall, his other hand making full impact to her face, she then falls down in defeat. "3 Years ill never get back unfortunately" he says under his breath but loud enough for Brooke, Becky and Lucie to hear.

Luciana is then pulled back up to her feet by Brooke "are you okay?" she asks worryingly, Lucie just shakes her head and then runs off out of school, Brooke goes to go after her but then had another idea so she got out her phone and looked through her contacts and then pressed call when she saw Haileys number.

HAILEY- "Hailey speaking"

BROOKLYN - "Hey, it's Brooke, Lucies friend"

HAILEY - "Oh hey Brooke, how are you doing?"

BROOKLYN - "Been better, but listen, Hayden just broke up with Lucie, and in the most horrid way possible, I mean he's such a jerk"

HAILEY - "What? Is she okay? Can I speak to her?"

BROOKLYN - "Well that's the thing, after he hit her she ran off, she ran out of school, I was going to run after her but I thought I'd phone you first"

HAILEY - "HE HIT HER, and no, thank you Brooke, I will find her, stay at school, ill let you know how I get on, thanks again Brooke"

BROOKLYN - "no problem Mrs Halstead"

Meanwhile back at the district

"Sarge I need to go, Lucie needs me" Hailey says to Voight as she opens his door after she knocked, he looks at her confused "why?", Hailey then answers bruptly "her boyfriend broke up with her", Hank nods his head for her to go and as she walks out, Jay is right in front of her "is she okay?". Hailey sighs and replies back all stressed "I don't even know but my guess is no, he hurt her Jay, he hit my baby girl and I need to find her".

Jay then looks at Hailey with anger in his eyes "HE WHAT", Hailey then replies back "I need to go Jay, right now, I need to find her before she does something stupid, her heads not going to be in the right place", he nods his head and let's Hailey go. She doesn't waste anytime and heads straight for her car, she then gets out her phone and straight into the tracking settings to see if she could find Lucies whereabouts. Sure enough she finds it, "the park, of course" the panicked mom says as she starts the engine in the car.

20 minutes later

Hailey is walking through the park looking all around her, and suddenly she spots her, sat on the bench by a tree, facing the river, the mom makes her way over to her daughter and sits beside her on the bench. Lucie looks at her mom with her sad eyes, Hailey winces when she sees her daughters black eye "oh sweetheart, come here" Lucie didn't waste anytime in hugging her mom, that's all she wanted right now, was to be close to her mom, to feel safe and loved.

"Mom what did I do wrong? I just don't understand" Lucie sobs out to her mom as she continues to cry into her mom's chest, Hailey frowns "you did nothing wrong sweetie, he's just a douche who doesn't know what he's talking about, your a beautiful girl with a heart of gold, he doesn't even deserve you, I know it hurts but it will get better, and you have me, you have Jay, you have everyone at the district who is going to be there, do I even have to mention the firehouse, I know how close you are to Gabby".

The kind words from her mom make her smile and she replies "thanks mom, I love you", Hailey smiles back at her, kisses her forehead "I love you too pumpkin". After about five minutes of just sitting there hugging each other in the middle of a park, the young girl then asks "mom, can I ask a question? I know it probably isn't the best time to mention it, but it's been on my mind for a while and feel I should get it out the way".

Hailey looks at her daughter confused and answers with another question "yes of course, what is it?", Lucie smiles ever so slightly and answers rather awkwardly "how would you feel if I, if I were to, well erm, become a firewoman, hopefully part of 51". Hailey then looks at her daughter with a shocked expression but then it turns to a huge smile "oh my god".

Lucie then replies back kinda panicked "what?", Hailey smiles even more "sweetheart this is amazing, yes, you have to, you just have too, and I know you can do it, you have it in you". Lucie looks at her kinds taken back "wait, your not angry?", Hailey then looks at her confused "why would I be angry?", then the girl answers "because it's a dangerous job, and, well I did nearly died in one". Hailey smiles at her "well, I'm not mad, not one bit, sure its dangerous but my jobs dangerous too, plus WHEN you end up at 51 you will have everyone there looking out for you".

Lucie smiles back at her and hugs her "thank you, that makes me really happy, I can't wait to tell Gabby", Hailey then questions "Gabby already knows?", Lucie smirks "what can I say, me and Gabs talk". Hailey then smirks back "you do more than just talk, look at you, your following her footsteps", Lucie smiles back at her "yea, yea I suppose you could say that, but the fact Gabby did it, even after not getting in the first time, shows me, that I can to".
