Chapter 68

** Evelyn's P.O.V **

"Well this is just great!" I sarcastically exclaim

"What's going on?" Marie asks as she enters the room

"I need your help..." I sigh

"Of course! With what?" Marie asks as she sits next to me

"Katrina just left with Zasha for a trip to Boston, and now we're left covering for her... that means Vice President and Governor, I don't know why she said President too" I admit

"We can do it, we make an awesome team anyway. Speaking of President, shouldn't you recheck his wounds?" Marie asks

"Da I should, thanks for reminding me.. I'll be back later" I smile as I kiss Marie

"I'll be waiting" Marie smiles

I grab my bag and head outside, I walk to the hotel. I then knock on the door, I hear President Semenov tell me to come inside.

"Hello President Semenov, im just here to recheck your wounds" I smile

"Hello Evelyn! I'm guessing Katrina sent you?" President Semenov asks

"Niet, she left for Boston?" I answer

"What? But she was supposed to do my job... I guess I'll have to ask Zasha and then talk to her when she gets back.." President Semenov sighs

"Zasha went with her? I thought you knew?" I answer

"I had niet idea actually... Evelyn I know you work very hard as it is but would you mind taking over for me until I have healed up? Marie can also help you, once Katrina gets back she can resume her job as Vice President and Zasha can resume her job as Governor but I would like you to take over for me" President Semenov answers

"Of course it would be an honor!" I smile

"Thank you Evelyn" President Semenov smiles

I check President Semenov's wounds, I then pack up my stuff. I head to the door

"I'll come back tomorrow to recheck your wounds, I'll also alert Marie of this change and when Katrina returns I'll tell her to meet up with you" I smile

"Great work, thank you Evelyn" President Semenov smiles

I head back to Katrina's office, once I arrive Marie had curled up on the couch. I smile and sit my bag down, I then walk over and sit next to her. Marie crawls onto my lap and burries her head into my chest, I smile and wrap my arms around her waist tightly.

"Someone's tired" I smile

"Yea..." Marie yawns

"Let's lay down okay? Katrina's office is WAY bigger than you think" I smirk

"Okay..." Marie yawns

I stand up, I then pick Marie up as well. I take her to the bed, I lay her down before I lay down as well. Right as I was turning off the light my phone dings, it was from work.... I sigh and stand up

"Where are you going...?" Marie asks

"Work needs me..." I sigh

"There are other doctors, lay back down. You're tired and you deserve rest" Marie answers

I smile and lay back down with Marie, she nuzzles up against me and burries her head deeper into my chest. I smile as I wrap my arms tightly around her waist, I then pull her closer to my body. I pull the blanket over us and flip off the lamp, this would be a nice night....
